Mike, that is Grass Lake, just south and above North Lake, which is west of Lake Sabrina, off Highway 168, near Bishop, Calif. About 10,000 feet -- only about a mile and a half from the parking lot. Not difficult to reach -- kind of steep, but the footing is very good, and there is plenty of shade. The climb to the lake is almost entirely through aspens.

Lots of great campgrounds in this area, too! And excellent trout fishing -- we did not fish, but everyone else was raving about it.

nice shot we were at north lake friday. The colors were awesome. Unfortunately it snowed friday night. I don't know if anything is left.
