I am planning a trip to Glacier next spring and was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to tent camp. I am looking for a place that is close to everything, but not a busy place. Would like preferably showers. I would be willing to forgo the showers if someone knows of a good primitive site though. Thanks for any info.

I was up in Glacier this month - you need to find MTLogger. The really primitive sites are at Kintla & Bowman Lakes - far back in the woods.

One of the original lodges, built by the railroads, is a 6 or 8 mile hike off Going to the Sun Road and should have tent camping plus have access to the lodge facilities. We didn't stay there so don't know any more but I could find the name of the lodge if you need it.

We stayed in our tent at the Avalanche campground area.
It was very nice and the sites were spaced far enough apart to be somewhat private, yet it is just off the Going to the Sun Road.
It did not have showers, but did have clean restrooms and water taps close by.
