NASCAR tells the drivers one thing in the pre race meeting then when it comes to a rookie or Smoke winning, they change the rules. That was wrong and Stewart stole this race, not a win.

It just goes to show how smart NASCAR is, and their vast knowledge of what the fans want to see. They knew I wanted Tony Stewart to win, and they came up with a way to satisfy me. Therefore, I'll be tuning in for the next race.
Is that how it works?

I thought they said you can't pass below the yellow line, even if you are forced down?

Regardless, TONY wins a Talladega title !!!!
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

The concensus is: if you shortcut below the yellow line in order to succesfully execute a pass, you shall be penalized.
And, it makes all the sense in world. Otherwise, there would be zero need to have an inside boundary to a racetrack.
Look, the NASCAR officials run the show, and they ruled on the infraction. Stewart won, AND Smith got penalized all the way back to 18th place. Smith has a lot to learn.

Don't tracks other than Talledega and Daytona not have a yellow line and allow passing even in the grass?
But, rules are rules and at Talledega below the yellow line if off limits for passing.

How does Nascar justify 18th place for someone who was in second place when they executed an illegal pass? Had he not made the pass he most likely would have been in 2nd place.
It seems to me that not winning was enough punishment.
