With my crew, I never get asked what kind of breed they are....but every trip somewhere a new question comes up..especially when we put out our play pen and chairs for them.

Do they snore>?
Do they bark>?
I hear they have bad gas

The best one is when I tell them they watch TV...no one believes me..but I swear they watch my wife's soap operas. And of course they watch the Dog Whisperer.

Deb
I've also had folks scrutinize him, wondering out loud what he reminds them of.....and I laugh and say "Dingo?" since he has a strong resemblance to his long-ago ancestors....LOL!!

We have gotten the same thing so many times! Stryker still has his tail which makes him look like a dingo/coyote. I keep him in a pen during deer hunting season because he looks so much like a coyote.

We can't walk 10 feet in a campground without someone asking. Our dogs are mixed. DW had DNA testing done and they are so mixed I can't even come up with a good Combo. DW tells everyone they are Disney dogs of the Benji variety. Our vet calls them Middleburgh Mousers (after a nearby country town).

With the good ol' mixed breed dogs we've had I've always answered the question of what breed they are with "Wonder dogs". When I get that look I go on to explain "Yes, we wonder what they are a mix of, but they sure are good dogs".

The fun thing about having a Weimaraner is that most people know what the breed is, they just can't pronounce it!

Hey, is that a Weemanhomer? A Weimanhammer? A Weimanranner? A Weemoranner?

Our Bouvier is often mistaken for a Portuguese Water Dog, Standard Poodle, Black Russian Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier and Giant Schnauzer but we usually tell them he's a BBD (BigBlackDog) or Bouvier Des Flandres. We've had the police called on him twice because he was mistaken for a bear. He gets a lot of attention when we walk him. We've actually had people stop in the middle of traffic to ask the breed type and we've had people tailgate us so they could take his picture while driving (when he's chained in the jump seat of the convertible).

Never heard of such a thing until we saw a vet in AL who had what could have been her twin sister.

I like to respond with "An extremely spoiled one". Quincy gets questioned a lot since he has prick ear and he is so stocky. But he is 100% jack russell. Chloe on the other hand...who knows. With her I answer a very lucky one since she was ditched in the middle of winter and saved by a rescue group the day before she was to be put down.
