Unless you are in a hurry just wait about three or four weeks for the dead bats bodies to become desicated than remove the stainless steel plate that guards the exhaust and intake and fish them out using a long piece of wire that has been hooked on the end.
If your in a hurry take off the larger plate that will allow you to remove the exhaust and intake pipes and remove their bodies.
Than screen the ends of the pipes with metal screening.

Just be happy they were not yellow jackets that sometimes get in there and build hives.

Becareful here as a 1/4" mesh screen impeades the air flow by 25%.

A typical screen door screen, impeades the air flow by 75%

Restricking the combustion chamber air flow will cause the heat exchanger too crack and will leak deadly CO into the RV.

Don't laugh! I had the same thing happen to me last month.I went down to our trailer and turned on the furnace to check it before my wife was due to come down the next day. The furnace ran but I definitely smelled something burning outside. I had a semi-cooked bat wedged into the exhaust. Had to pull it out with needle nosed pliers - piece by piece. So I too will be looking into installing screens on both the furnace and hot water tank.
