I've got a leak in my roof around my bathroom fan, i know where it needs to be patched. It's leaked about 4 times in the last five summers, when the rain is pouring and it gets very windy. It's wet and leaking now and i'm putting it in storage for the winter in 1 to 2 weeks. Do you think i'd be better off sealing it now if i get a hot dry day, or putting it in storage for the winter and hopefully letting it dry out more and then sealing it when i take it out of storage in the spring

If you can't repair it before storage put a cover over that area and duct tape it down.

Is this a joke?
You have known about a leak for five years and have not fixed it yet? Probably makes no difference at this point, the damage has already started, and the correct fix now will likely involve a lot of structural repairs.

I would suspect that every time it rained or possibly snow melted, moisture was intruding. It rained hard enough those few times for you to notice the moisture coming in thru the roof. I would check the roof area around the leak for moisture damage. I hope it didn't get too far into the structure.
Put some sort of cover over it that would allow it to breathe and dry. Don't let leaks go on too long, damage WILL occur. If you have a leak fix it pronto.

Assuming covered storage, don't fix it. Not covered, fix it. Yeah.. 5 years and you haven't fixed it??

Sorry I was not trying to offend you. It just astounds me to hear someone who knew of a leak and did nothing about it for 5 years. In an RV of any brand/size/quality neglecting a leak can lead to some very serious and costly repairs. Even a few drops of water can start wood rot, not to mention mold and mildew which can become a health hazard. I think you need to stop any further water inflitration into your RV NOW, then in the spring do some investigating to be sure there is not any serious problems that need to be addressed.
There, is that better?

I agree that a leaky roof for 5 years doesn't sound good let me try to recoup a littl grace. Wev'e had the camper for 5 years first leak was in 06 and we thought we had left the vent not quite tightly sealed and it was a huge storm, next leak last year, same thing. now with it leaking twice in one month, both huge storms but i know the vent was tightly closed time to fix. I probably should have checked into it sooner but it's rained lots of times and never a drop. Only in a big storm and not even all of them
