I cannot mount 2 batteries on my TT due to welded battery box and position of propane tank. With our first fall/winter camping coming up in a National Park, I want to ensure reasonable availability of battery power for blower(Big Meadows has no electricity). So why not carry a second fully charged 12V battery and hook up the parallel set up on site. Any concerns with this or suggestions?

Should work fine.

Jim, your idea should work fine. Have you thought about mounting the battery under the other or in the front of the trailer. Could you fabricate another battery tray? If they are hooked together going down the road then both will be charged while going down the road.

Just be safe on how the battery is transported.
Any welding shop would make a mount to hold 2, 3 even 4+ batteries if you like.

If you are buying a battery get at least a group 27 and a group 29 would be better. Different size in parallel works fine.

Two batteries should not be connected in parallel in the storage because when one goes bad, it will kill the other, but nothing wrong with using them and charging in parallel. Lot of diesel cars and trucks come with 2 batteries in parallel from the factory.
When I kept the TT at dry storage close to the lake, I had old motorcycle battery in it for emergency brakes and occasional water use. Big battery was traveling with us home for recharging and when used -sitting on the ground was connected with alligator clips.
Worked as a charm.

If both batteries are good hooking them in pararell will cause no problem. we have done that for years.

I have a second battery in my TC in a boat battery box strapped down on an aluminum platform I made and mounted in the truck bed. It connects to the camper with #6 wire and a golf cart plug. Inside I have a Perko marine-type battery switch that allows me to use or charge either battery or both at once. Not a real hard installation, and it works great. I'll bet you could find room for something similar. Good luck!

Just use a good set of jumper cables

My only concern would be legs.

Some times things that are not bolted to the rig can grow legs long about 2 or 3 am and walk off

Sometimes things that ARE bolted to the rig grow them too.
