There are a lot of folks out here with Vintage trailers. A lot of money, time and effort goes into these fine old trailers. For most, vintage begins at 20 years old.
I just bypass the snob campgrounds.

Just because our's is 14 years old it doesn't make us "trailer trash"
We have never been turned away because of an older unit.

One thing I don't think that has been considered is that the OP wanted a spot for the season. Wonder if that changes thoughts on the matter. I still think the rule should be more flexable.

If the economy does not change, all CGs had better change to the twenty year rule.

We worked at a KOA this summer. And, yes, they had a 10 year rule for all seasonals. But the funny thing was our MH is 14 years old and we were parked for almost 6 months with the Seasonals.
We are planning to stay at a Campground in TX this winter. I always ask if there are any age restrictions before we make any reservations. The woman (at the campground) told me "No" but if our MH doesn't look nice - she will put us in the back of the campground. Oh, well !! LOL !

ARVC in NO WAY says that you can not allow 10yr old rigs in ANY park. Any park that does this, does it on their own. KOA corporate does NOT have this rule either. Any parks that choose to use this instrument as a way of keeping ANYONE, for ANY reason out of their park, has that right. And you certainly have the choice to stay away from those parks. I would too.
HOWEVER.....other then the original poster (who I believe misunderstood what was told him). Has ANYONE....ANYONE been turned down at a park because of the age of their rig??? ANYONE????
This subject is so ridiculous because it DOESN'T happen. Would ANY of you PLEASE give me the name of a park that you were turned away from because of the age of your RV? .......especially the fella who claims that ARVC and KOA are behind this rule. PLEASE give me the names of the parks that did not let you in. PLEASE.

Small Country Campground in Louisa VA
As I stated in original Post. I didn't misunderstand anything. I said I was looking for a "Seasonal Site" to use for weekends and I explained I had a nice rig that has been in Indoor Storage for almost 10 years. I was told, and later found out they lied, that it was the Nationl Association of Campgrounds Rule. I even challenged the young lady on the phone, because at first she said it was a County Rule, and she asked somebody else in the office and they said National rule. I guess a lot of the people that read these post just brezz through them without looking for the details

kwrusse wrote: Small Country Campground in Louisa VA that is really the name of the place!!! Looked it up: http://www.smallcountry.com/. Looks like they have been making lots of improvements there. Their ratings at http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Virginia/Louisa.html were not always good. Passport America campground.
I think lots of campgrounds are being fussy about their seasonal campers because they end up setting the standard for the appearance of the campground. All you have to do is read some of the reviews of campgrounds. The reviewers are always complaining about some of the seasonal "falling apart" camp trailers that appear to be permanent fixtures. It is just easier to say "Nothing over 10 years old" because if you make one exception.... Not that I think 10 years is the answer.

To me there is a large difference between "No rigs over 10 years old" and "No seasonal sites for rigs over 10 years old." They probably have had a problem with old rigs being parked there and left to deteriorate.
