At least the size going to your converter.
I would buy standard pre-made battery cables.

I would also go with preassembled battery cables. You will be drawing well over 100 amps through that connector. If possible replace the wires going to ground and the converter with heavier guage.

Pre-made battery cable is the least expensive proper wire.

You do not want to restrict size here to just your house/inverter needs. Some day you might want to jump off a vehicle with that battery and will need battery cable size wire.

the larger the better, smaller sizes heat up and will slow down the transfer of volts or lamps. I would put on a 6 gage at the smallest. also keep the tops of the battery clean. you lose volts with a dirty top.

The correct answer depends on how long the wire run will be. Go to this web page and scroll down to near the bottom where you will find a wire size table. Use that and size for 100 amps.

If you have just one wire hooked to the POSITIVE bettery terminal, and one to the NEGATIVE, and they are both the same size.. The jumper should be at least as big (i'd likely use Ford-type starter cable (the cable that runs from the solenoid to the starter) if it was larger.. The reason.. Easy to find, in assorted lengths, already cut and terminated to order, get it at any auto-parts place, Pep, boys, Auto zone, Discount auto, Joe's hardware, Most anywhere)

If you have multiple wires hooked to the positive,, and one on the negative, then the same as the single wire

If you have multiple on both ends. Then add the two sizes together (Post the wire sizes) and we will figure it out for you

When I added a second batt to the boat, I bought the wire in lenght and the ends (the big guys that take a lot of solder). it was 2 guage for everything, but the highest draw is the starter (momentary), some of the premade stuff had small lugs (and costs a lot more). It looks like a factory install when done properly. Vise, torch, pliers, and wire cutters

I have 2 gauge wire that runs from the battery to the generator to start it. I am going to run 6 gauge wire to my new xantrex xadc60 charger. The 6 gauge will only be 4'. Will 6 gauge to tie the 6 volt batterys together be good? The length of wire to tie the batterys together will only be about 1 foot.
