If you have a vehicle that is equipped with window locks this won't apply to you.
We have a mischevious Maine Coon cat who loves to play. It was hot day and Jim left the truck running with the AC on to keep us cool while he got something out of the fifth wheel. Little Miss chased a fly over by the door and stepped on the electronic window switch, down went the window, me panicked and Jim came back to find poor kitty being held by the tail looking at me saying whats up? and me in hysterics!
So now on hot days we leash the cats, take them to the 5th wheel and put them in there and the same with our two Shih Tzu's. They all travel in the cab with us, the MC in the back on top of a cooler surveying the world and our other cat sprawled on the dash of the truck. The dogs curl up between us.

I bet that Maine Coon keeps the other dogs in line!
I know one that beat up a german sheperd just for barking at the cat.
Have fun camping!

Glad to hear that everything worked out okay.... the reverse situation can occur, and animals and children have been killed by accidentally putting windows UP while their heads are out the window.
The moral of the story being that if there's any chance of your critters (regardless of how many legs they may have!) accessing the window controls, you should use the lock that almost all of them come with. Seatbelting your dogs in is also helpful, since if they can't stand up and put their heads out the window, that prevents the choking issue.

Code2High, the window lock you're referring to normally don't disable the front windows, just the back ones.

Our minature schnauser did the samething, usually we keep the windows down, but it was raining, so windows were up. Fortunately for us, our grandson was in the back seat and unbuckled is car booster seat and unlocked the door and we were home free!
