Wonder how Allison, Yarbourgh,Pearson, and those during that era, handled things back in the day??

I doubt they left little handwritten notes... "meet me behind the gym after school for a fight..." like in Junior high school.

Edwards is a good driver but I've always thought his behavior a bit odd at times. He puts on a good face when in front of the camera's but he sure seems to have insecurity or anger issues or something. As the previous poster mentioned it doesn't seem like he is well respected by his teammates, which is odd given his good guy persona in front of the cameras. Biffle's done a good job at keeping his mouth shut on this deal but I'd sure like to hear Biffle uncensored on this subject.

I suspect Dr. Phil may be needed to straighten this thing out, maybe a joint counseling session with both Edwards and Harvick. "Hows that working out for ya, Carl?"... Of course with Harvick there it might not last more than about 2 minutes before he goes Jerry Springer on them...

So, you've never seen a "good whoopin"? I have,......it's quite different. IMO Harvick is not physically big enough to do the honors. I don't think anyone really wants a guy like Carl to get physical, he could do a lot of damage,.....I think.

Ha-ha, I'll give ya odds on that. Running and yuppie fitness (Edwards) can't stand up to old fashioned toughness and the ability to street brawl (Harvick).

Whats Edwards gonna do, go gymnastic on him? LOL Backflips and right hooks are two different things.

And yes I've seen good whoopins, got some, gave some. I'll tell ya what, when you get put on the hood of a car at the start of it...well lets just say its a good thing for Carl that it got broke up.

I wish I could remember the story but it involved the Petty and another racing family getting into it after a race. I think Richards mother came out the winner because the other guys couldn't stand the heat from her swinging purse! Does anyone recall the details? ( I think the other family was the Lund family) Obviously I am not sure of much of it but it was a hoot when I heard it.

I remember hearing that story too........here is what I found on it doing a google search.........

The Petty's were a close family. And when it came time to defend their honor, everyone got involved. On one occasion, Dwayne ‘Tiny' Lund ------ who was far from ‘tiny' ----- confronted Lee after a race. Lund was upset over some contact that he felt was inappropriate. Words were exchanged, and Lund took a swing at the elder Petty. A fight ensued. But it didn't last long. Richard, a teen ager at the time, grabbed a tire iron. His brother, Maurice, got into the fray. And, to the delight of everyone who was watching, Richard's mother began beating Lund over the head with her huge pocketbook. Lund decided that he had had enough, and made a hasty retreat. Later, all Lund could say was "When you take on a Petty, you take on the whole darned family."

This is what Harvick said that made Edwards angry:

"I know that his fans won't be very proud of him sitting back there riding around like a pansy," Harvick said. "If he had been racing all day, maybe he would have known how long the front of his car was."
