What are some options to access the internet while camping?
And which options will get the best signal. I am leaning to a roof mounted version.
Thanks

Find a WIFI Hotspot! Visit an Internet Cafe!

With the economy in the Can investing in an expensive Tel/Sat system may not be prudent unless of course it is absolutely necessary for You to be on the Internet while Camping!

We are full-timers and simply use the wi-fi at the campgrounds. We are very rarely without internet. Sometimes the signal is low, but we have a C Crane Super USB antenna and it get service when we can't get a good signal from the internal antenna.

You can search this Forum for `internet access' where there are more than 500 responses already. You can than search the results to get a narrower range of responses.
We access the internet through our Verizon cell phone.

Thanks for the info. I do go camping to enjoy the outdoors and sit around the campfire, but I also teach online classes which requires me to log in every day.

We use a Verizon Wireless card for our laptop. More secure than wifi and
have only not been able to connect on a few occasions.

I believe you would be better off with a Verizon Aircard than a rooftop satellite internet dish. Perhaps a tripod mounted dish would provide a more reliable access to the southern sky, much like a TV satellite dish.
