I want to install an exhaust brake on my 07 Dodge 3500, automatic, I am staying at an RV park in San Diego and would like to know where is a good place to have one installed here in San Diego. Also what brand are most folks buying, I have spent many hours reading about them and there seems as there are many good ones on the market to purchase and can not make up my mind so I thought this would be a great place to ask, so any replies would be appreciated.

Call a local dodge dealer they would install and warranty at the same time, I guess you bought the 5.9ctd? my 07 6.7 came with the E/B stock .
With dodge doing the installation any dodge dealer will perform warranty if anything goes wrong with the E/B.

There is a dealer installed option from Cummins for the 06/07 5.9CTD, plug and play, warranty is kept as well. The kit can be purchased at your neighborhood Dodge/Chrysler dealer.

This spring while I was in Ca. I had a Banks installed at the factory in Azusa, Ca. It took almost all day. It was expensive but I did not want anyone screwing up my truck.
I had purchased a Pacbrake from Pacbrake and took it to a shop to put it on they said they didn't want to undertake such a job. I sent it back and lost my shipping charges but I'm happy with the Banks.

When we got our 07 5.9 I had them put the Jake brake on when I picked it up. Now it works real good if I am not pulling. When I am pulling {our 5er is around 15K} it does not seem to slow me down much when we are going down hill. It does keep me from going faster but would like to have it slow me down, just thought it would work better than it does.

Red, are you shifting down to a lower gear at the top of a mountain pass. I am not sure on a late model 48RE tranny how it works, but on my 2001.5 DTT tranny, I have to manage the gear selection myself when decending a mountain. In OD I can run fast down a 6 percent grade at around 60-63 and not touch the brakes. If it is curvy and I need a slower speed, then 3rd gear works pretty good at 6 percent. If it is REALLY curvy or way over 6 percent, then I go down to 2 gear.
I have 4:10 gears also. The higher the RPM to more braking you get with an exhaust brake.

Yup, go with the factory/dealer installed option. Keeps and is part of your warranty then.

Have not tried down shifting will try down shifting next time. Oh yes do have 3.73 rear end.
