DETROIT - Published reports say General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC have held preliminary talks about a merger or an acquisition of Chrysler by GM.

Given the current global auto situation, I think G.M., Ford, and Chrysler should all merge into one "American Motors" company!

I think this maybe a good idea...united we stand, divided we fall. It's an economic war out there for auto makers.

well,

That Ford truck w/Cummins and Allison might be a reality!

Whatever happens, I hope GM, Ford and Chrysler do well.

With the lack of decent product out of Chrysler, I don't see what's in it for GM. Seems a high price to pay for one powertrain combo!

All the American Manufacturers are in this trouble due to building product nobody wants.

Other than the new Chevrolet Malibu, the offerings are pretty dismal. The Ford Flex, a $37,000.00 station wagon, that gets poor gas mileage.

You must of never seen the late '60's AMX, my favorite was dark green. One of the nicest looking and best proportioned cars of that era. Optioned with the 390 V8 and 4 speed and it was pretty quick.
