Can you owners please comment on how your diesel liberty is holding up? I'm considering a 2005 vintage as a new toad to replace my minivan DD and Wrangler into one vehicle instead of 2. This would be my DD as well as my toad for fun. The diesel intrigues me but only if the maintenance costs aren't stupid and the power is there. Oh yeah, I want the fuel economy too

If you own one, do you like? Would you buy again?

We like our '06 Liberty CRD Limited. I have a problem keeping from spinning the tires when pulling onto the highway. That little diesel seems to be a torque monster!
We get 23 to 27 MPG consistently. We have just a little over 24K on it now. The dealer has done all the servicing on it, and he uses Mobil 1 0W-40 oil, so, yes, an oil change is a little pricey. I should take it someplace else for service, and save some money, but it isn't that often.
There have been a couple of recalls and service bulletins for computer issues. I have heard that some Liberty diesels have had some kind of exhaust recirculation valve (or something like that) problems, and some kind of transmission shifting (computer-based) problems, but we havne't encountered anything with ours. We occasionally get a warning light related to the electronic throttle actuator, but I just turn the switch off and re-start and it goes away.
We have been thinking about selling ours, but we like it too well to let it go.

We have an 06 CRD has about 36m on it. Oil changs are at 6m using Syn Mobel 1 0-40 about $30 doing it yourself. Several recalls dealer took care of. We get from 25 to 28mpg. An yes it will spin the tires if you are not carefull.
