We will be going down Hwy 101 thru Oregon in late October and then want to go over to Mt Shasta and at the same time stay clear of snow (I know a tall order) so we need to figure out what is the best road/s to take that have the least high passes and yet are OK for a 27' Class C pulling a Toad. Any & all suggestions greatly appreciated, Thanks. Fred

God made a few good heads, the rest he put hair on.
I would take 199 from Crescent City over to Grants Pass and then South on I-5 to Mt Shasta. Avoiding snow shouldn't be that much of a proble in late October and if it does snow, just wait it out. Too early for any prolonged Winter storms typically, but anything can happen.
You will not avoid any high passes getting to Mt Shasta from 101 in Oregon, just part of the area you are traveling. Siskiyou Pass from Ashland over to Yreka will be the highest, but easily done with your rig, just take it slow.
