I replaced the OEM single cylinder lock with a Class 2 double cylinder lock (requires a key to open from inside also) for $20 worth of peace of mind. It would have been easy to reach the old lock's latch from the broken door window. Now if someone wants in bad enough, it might happen, but they won't be exiting through the door.

Another vote for a dual cylinder deadbolt. And don't have a key hanging where it can be reached by breaking glass or seen from outside.

Let's face it guys. The crime is on the raise and is not going to stop soon.
I heard old stories that in former Soviet Union you had to walk around big vehicles at gas station, because thieves would take whatever they could at that time.
We are not at the bottom

yet.
They are doing it here in the US too. On TV one night they were showing surveillance tapes at a gas station. Woman was pumping gas, thief crawled over to passenger door, opened it, took her purse and ran off.

We had the dead-bolt locked when our 5th wheel was broken into last year. They just broke the window in the door, reached in an unlocked the dead-bolt.

The primary reason we bought the Trailmanor was to avoid storing it across town. I save $100 per month in fees and I don't lose any sleep worrying about it. So far I have avoided over $4000 in storage fees.

Good point. We've saved about $7500.00

We are fortunate in that we have never had but only 1 problem at the storage lot we have used for a little over 2 years. The FL license plate was stolen. In the process, the theif simply broke off the plastic plate bracket. So, we simply zip-tie the plate to the rear ladder now. It didn't cost anyting to get it replaced, at least. I sure HOPE I don't jinx myself by posting this! pcm

Somehow I don't think that zip-tieing a licenseplate to the ladder is the proper thing to do. In many states and provinces the plate has to be alluminated at night. Do you have a plate light mounted on your ladder too?

When they broke into mine, they went through a ceiling vent. Very easy to pull those apart.
