It's called Schedule 200. Ask for it by name.

I made mine using a piece of 3" aluminum down spout cut into two 5' sections. Works like a charm. No need to wory about it getting hot and melting.

How warm does the aluminum downspout get?

Lots of venues require them if you want to run your gen set.

If it's listed in the Yellow Pages, the government shouldn't be messing around with it.

I made it using the 1" gap like the "Gen-Tura". I don't think it gets any hotter than the PVC. It's always cold when I take it down. No need to touch it after set up. I really don't know if I have stuck a finger to it after the genset has been running for a while.

Does Onan warranty there Gen if you use one? One reason I never had one for any of my MH's.

He's not talking about a "direct connect", just ending the exhaust inside a large pipe, the rising heat draws outside air from the bottom and takes the exhaust fumes out the top. The pipe itself doesn't get very warm...hence the Venturi Effect....FYI...Brian

Seems there is lot of confusion on technical part.
Venturi is when small nozzle injects high pressure gas, or fluid into venturi-shaped pipe what sucks the higher volume of substance in the pipe.
Describe above effect is called chimney.
While venturi will work in any position, the chimney will go only up.
Sure "venturi" sells better than "chimney" and lot of buyers fall for it.
Makes you wonder what they did during 5-th grade physics?

The real GenTuri does in fact take the exhaust up and above the top of our fifth wheel which is a good thing in my eyes...before the exhaust came out the bottom and just floated up toward the bedroom...the GenTuri eliminated that problem and works well

...and as one other person said you need a GenTuri in certain cases like tailgating, Rallies, etc.

...and why would Onan void a warranty if you use one????
