The wife will be retiring mid-year in '09 and I just happened to bring up her retirement present. "What do you want after 40 years of faithful service??"
She just finished watching "The world's longest garage sale" that takes place every year on hwy 127 from Tennessee to Ohio...
"Thats what I want to do...I'd love to do that trip it would be so much fun"....
mmm Why couldn't she have been watching road Atlanta, Nascar, or something on ocean fishing....
Guess I had better make room in the C...

Except for the gas to get there...it IS cheaper than if she said Diamonds, or Gold jewelry!

Oh yea, don't forget adding the cost of a nice color coordinated trailer (as a gift for you) to pull behind the MH.
So you have somewhere to put all the stuff she buys!

Now you're talkin'.....need a small enclosed utility trailer. This trip might not be so bad after all...
She says it's the "Hunt"..not the buying. We'll see. I have until next August to get myself psyched up. We have always wanted to travel the South so this will actually work out OK.

Go for the garage sales before everyone finds you something to do with your time.

Maybe we can start a group where the wives do that trip and the husbands go fishing and do NASCAR.

Maybe there's something wrong with my hormones, but I am a female who hates to shop! The whole idea of going to a bunch of garage sales leaves me cold. I'm possibly the only woman on the planet who feels this way. I love looking at RVs & camping gear, though.

i'm with you, so there's at least 2 on the planet--maybe hormones or lack thereof, but garage sales don't get my attention at all. i understand there is a monster flea market that draws thousands of RV'rs in the SW in feb(?) (quartsite, AZ?) and the trip and camping sounds a lot more fun than plowing thru a bunch of old stuff. just got back from indiana (the long way) and would it again......okay, except for kansas. otherwise, the trees were beginning to turn--very pretty--perfect time of year for travel.
