We went to the Rv show over the weekend and fell in love with the new Raptor model that is going to be coming out 361LEV. The problem is we think it is to big for our truck. Of course they say we can pull it, but we need the experts opinions. (Which are you guys).

We have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD Diesel. No upgrades at this time. With a 6" lift. E rated tires. The trailer they say is going to be 39'7" with shipping wt approx -12265 lbs and hitch wt approx 2650 lbs. They do not have exact wts yet as one has not officially been finished and weighed. I am extimating approx GVWR at 16500 am I right?

They were able to show us what it would look like by showing us the front half of one trialer and the back half of another trailer. Here are some pics I took.

And for the garage with it's own TV and refrigerator

BTW it is a nice looking layout and floor plan....

Without knowledge of the actual GVWR from Keystone on this model of trailer it is difficult to form an opinion. A good rule of thumb for estimating PIN Weight is.... GVWR X .020 = PIN weight estimate

Example 18000 x .020 = 3600

It will be a heavy load for the 2500HD no matter what. It will potentially be over your trucks rating in one or more capacity ratings...Can the truck pull it....yes as these DA rigs pull like a locomotive. But is it safe to haul your family ....? Only you can make that decision. Your biggest problem will be the amount of Pin weight on the rear axle and potential overload on the rear tires if stock size tires are still present.

Good luck with your research and decision......

The pin weight will push down your bed and crank up your headlights like you won't believe. You will definitely need airbags, helper springs, etc. Also, what size tires do you have. I had an F350 with a 6" lift and 35's and it was close to my bed and the trailer pulled at a slight angle.

Great layout-

I like the fact you have an oven and a microwave- not just a convection micro/oven. Fireplace is cool and the big TV in the loft is excellent along with the separate bath.

The glass door to the garage is very nice too.

You will be way over weight with your current TV but I would add air bags and feel very comfortable with the set-up. But that's just me- others will differ as I am sure you will hear.

That is a very nice trailer!

I tow my 3612DS with the Dodge listed in my signature with out issue. I put a set of supersprings on an now it rides just a tick bow high.

The 5ver, not my truck. Truck is level.

Thanks guys for the input. You have all said what we were thinking. Just hoping to hear something else. The other debate is do we really want something that big with only a 12 foot garage. The kids say yes since they would have their own play place with their own TV, so they think.

I guess we are back to looking. Was kind of hoping I would be able to change the screen name soon.

I saw this trailer on keystones website and wondered about the weight since all the specs say TBD. It does look like it will be somewhat heavier than the 3712 that they have.

I am a Raptor fan but if the Eclipse Attitude F39TSG had been out when we were looking three years ago, we would have bought it. 14 foot Garage plus two fridges. They even have a 16 foot garage model but only one fridge.

The only draw back is the 12 foot garage really limits what you can haul and it was the reason we had open floor plan th's for so many years-

This is especially true if you are going to get or have a utv.
