Hello everyone we are looking to buy a class c 2004 Forest River Sunseeker 29 or 31 feet with or without slide and would like to have some advise from people that already own this type of class c. Any problem with the slide out and quality wise are they good and should I buy without slide. I'm trying to find the pros and cons of the sunseeker. At first I was looking to buy a Itasca spirit but change my mind for the sunseeker because of the difference in price and they seem to be well build. Any advise will be very welcome and Thank You everyone for taking the time to read this post.

I have a 2005, we've had it about 5 months now. I love it so far. We've had some minor problems but no more than you would expect in a home on wheels. I like the simple layout. I don't know why they are considered low end motorhomes. I'm not living in mine it's just for week-ends and once a year for 2 weeks. I don't see the need for fancy faucets or big mirrors in the bedroom. We have a bed in the back and one in the front. The couch makes a bed and so does the dinnette booth. It drives as good as my car. I haven't taken my long trip yet, that won't be until march. We have plenty of storage space and since it was cheap we have money to travel with.

Last month we traded for a new 2008 Sunseeker 3100ss-ltd and have been out 3 times in the first month and find nothing to show that this is a lower quality Class C. I agree with JOMO "It drives as good as my car. I haven't taken my long trip yet, that won't be until march. We have plenty of storage space and since it was cheap we have money to travel with."

We bought a 2007 2860LTD(30', 2 slides) last year. So far we've spent about 80 nights in it and are very satisfied. I've found a few things, all cosmetic, that could have easily been done better at the factory but if I had to do it over I would make the same choice. They're built on the same Ford E450 chassis as more expensive Cs, they have the same name brand appliances and most I've seen come very well equipped. The only modification that I've made is to upgrade the single marine/deep cycle battery to dual 6V golf cart batteries as we do a lot of dry camping. The holding tanks could be a little larger(27 gal galley, 20 gal grey, 27 gal black) but compare favorably with other Cs on Ford or Chevy chassis. Overall I think that the Sunseeker line is a good value. I've seen posts on this forum that have disparaged Sunseekers on the basis of quality but that has not been my experience.

I have the same unit as ramzfan and we love ours as well. I have a family of 5 and we all fit quite well. Over a year later and we still believe we got a great deal for a great motorhome.
The one thing I like better about the double slide 2860 as opposed to the 3100 super slide is the huge amount of storage in the bedroom. We packed 10 days worth of clothing for 5 along with 7 days of food and all of the bathroom, linens and odds and ends we needed for a 3 week trip. Tons of storage.
Happy buying!

While I don't own a Sunseeker...I did look very close at them. I do own a Jayco Escapade, pretty much the same coach with different decals and brand name.
We have found that it serves it's intended purpose very well. It may not have all the pretty upgrades of the higher end line, but it delivers the same results. If you want to custom remodel the interior to look more upscale or to fit your personal taste it is an easy task to undertake. We went without a slide, I didn't want the extra weight, nor felt the need for the little room a slide provides for the price. We seem to do just fine for the wife and I along with a grandchild from time to time.
When you look at the overall picture, you are buying a home on wheels for less than the price of many SUVs. And less to insure.

We have a 2004 Sunseeker 2900LE no slides on E450 chassis. No problems with it, ran great on 4500 mile 4 week trip towing a Suzuki Grand Vitara. Has sufficient storage for the 2 of us. Minor mods include changing out the TV to a flat panel hung underneath the cabinet and installing shelfs and doors on the cabinet. Also, rear view camera, Bilstein shocks, and rear air bags.
