In a little more than 2 years, we've towed a 2000 Miata almost 20,000 miles.

For us it is the perfect towed. Lightweight, stylish, and sporty. I don't know how anything else could be any better.

We get lots of admiring smiles from other RVers as we buzz by with the top down while they are climbing out of their Saturns and Jeeps.

We had a dolly for our Class C and held it for the first couple years with A's. Our daughter would always be with us at those time. Wwhen she got out on her own and it was just my wife & I it became a problem getting the car on the dolly. I couldn't figure out my wife's hand directions and she couldn't watch directions and the steering wheel at the same time. I can tell you it is not an easy job when you get the car over the front of the dolly pads. After we would get in the MH we wouldn't speak for a while and then it was time to take it off the dolly again. I got the PT and set it up for flat towing. It was not cheap but still a lot cheaper than a divorce. Friday is our 49th. anniversary so I wasn't ready to give up over a car.

I have to find out if we can tow the PT Cruiser Flat. Since we already have it and we love driving it around with the top down, I am hoping to be able to use it. If it can't be towed flat, then our next best option would be a really good tow dolly.

Does anyone know anything about the KarKaddy Demco Dollys or what is the best dolly to consider?

rondeb, If you have a stick shift it is ready to tow. An automatic takes a Remco Lube Pump for the transmission. The pump keeps the fluid circulating in the transmission for lubrication. There is a switch with a red/green light and a buzzer that warns if the trans fluid quits circulating. We now have 6 1/2 years of towing the PT and 65,000 miles with no problem. Since we have a braking system I have replaced the brakes on the car already and we are on the third set of tires, We have probably towed about 35,000 miles in that time.

We tow a Campion 20 ft. Fish and Ski boat. 280 lbs. of tongue weight. The total weight of the boat and engines, wet with fuel is roughly 2800 lbs. I ordered a custom EZ-Loader trailer with an extra 2 ft of tongue (5 feet total ) to accomodate our 11.5 ft. camper when we had it before the MH.

Thanks for the info. The farmer that we bought the Class C from had owned this RV for 8 years and he told us the farmer before him had towed a car. There is a unit up just below the dash that he said was to keep the transmission fluid moving, but didn't know anything about it and didn't get the part that goes to the car. Hopefully this makes sense, as it does not to us. Just trying to remember what he said.

We tow either a Chevy Suburban, 4 wheels down, or a utility trailer (I think it's about 12 feet long, not including the tongue).

Rondeb, It sounds like you may have the control and wiring already installed. That would save a little bit of time and money. The most expensive part is the pump but that also includes the wiwring setup for the toad. I would like to get my wife into a convertible but she likes what she has.

What tow system to hook to the car and bars should we be looking at. I am sure there are better ones. Since you tow a Cruiser, which ones do you use.

The Cruiser was my retirement (I am the Wife) in March. My husband retired 3 years ago. I had never had a convertable and we absolutely love it. What a fun little car. We have always driven large trucks until the little cruiser. We have to put it away for the winter, but I would love to take it along with us.

I am going to call the RV dealer tomorrow and check into what we need to do to set the Cruiser up before winter so it would be ready come Spring to head out.
