If the campground allows such activities, your only option is to make a note in your "Do Not Return" file, and continue on.
Whether to let the management know that you will not be returning, and why, is up to you.
If you do tell them, don't be surprised if they don't seem to care.
Good luck.

Now that's the answer I would have given.

It's not really bad etiquette if it is allowed by the campground owners or management. But I for one, would make note of that campground and not return there.

We don't get upset by things like that, but we don't return, either.

Vote with your wallet.

PS- you might post the location and save someone else from learning about this the same way you did.

there are plenty of CG that allow things of this nature...

most that say no mechanical or repair work, actually mean they don't want you changing your oil or replacing your brakes and things like that...

I have been to parks that allow cleaning contractors wash and wax, or pressure wash, you rig, but they have to have self contained units for this purpose, and have set hours that usually do not include weekends... they can operate...

I really don't see a problem with it, it generally isn't something that go's on every day... the guy must not be very good to take two full days with a buffer to wax a rig... companies I have seen do this have pressure washed the roof washed and waxed the rig and cleaned the carpets in hours not days...
sometimes they come back the next day to do a roof treatment but this isn't a noisy job...

expecting peace and solitude in a public setting is really not realistic at all times though...

since you were not able to move to another site, it must be acceptable to many that frequent there, since they were full...

the choice was always yours to move to another park and trade one noise for another... or to search out places with strict noise rules and boon docking...

if there were three hundred sites there and they were full, there were also three hundred different reasons people were there... most have something to disappoint them and most choose to not let it bother them and have a good time in spite of these little annoyances...

I guess Im just too darn laid back but I dont let the little things bother me that much. I cant believe a buffer can make that much noise and during the day to boo I would have probably moved my easy chair so I could watch the work being done. Oh well, takes all kinds to make this wonderful world we live in. Enjoy and safe travels...Don

The practice must not be harming the business, since you said there were no other sites available. I own several different buffers, none are very loud. Just maybe you are overly sensitive to noises. Anyway if it so annoying to you, then do not return. If you are so inclined, send them a letter, letting them know they will not be making any more money off of you because of this.

Sounds like it would be time to fire up the Champion. Tell them it is so you don't hear the buffers and you will shut it down when the buffer people leave.

We have a resort a couple miles from us, and they allow cleaning contractors mon to fri, no earlier than 9am no later than 5pm, they are only allowed to advertise in the main office, and of course on their vehicle when they are in there doing a job, but then there are alot of seasonal campers there that are permanently set up, so I guess if they want the park to have a clean apearence they have to allow something like that, but keep it under somewhat tight control.
I guess you just picked the wrong day to be there, it probley would not have been an issue if it was your rig getting cleaned.
