we saw the raptor 299 at the pomona rv show and liked it. the salesman said they have a 300 raptor on the way to their lot. the floorplan looked good on paper but couldn't see it in person. this is the smallest garage model raptor makes that has a bedroom slide. does anyone have experience with these brand toyhaulers both good and bad?

We have the 3612ds about 2 yrs now any brand will have issues but we really like our raptor they are considered "high end" But havent seen why compared to any others we have seen in that price range.
Buy the floor plan you like and that works for your family only advice i can give you is go bigger than you think you may need so you don't have to say next year well i wish i had bought the bigger one that happens to quite a few of us.
Going to the show next weekend cant wait to see what they have

How do you mean bigger? Do you wish yours was longer or just had more storage room. Maybe an open one and not a garage model?

Everyone has different needs. If you do a lot of off roading, it is really nice being able to put those dirty bikes/quads in the separate garage. On the other hand, if you're buying a smaller unit, the separate garage takes away a lot of living space.

We have the raptor 299, and we love it. the size is perfect for us. when we were looking we didnt want something to long b/c that eliminates you from many national parks, and campgrounds. granted its just the wife and i, and our dog. i think this unit will work fine with upto two kids, then you may feel cramped on space. when we do go out thought it seems like we always have a trailer full of friends! we havent had any major issues. we have had some minor stuff that you get with any brand, loose screws, etc.

Well the reason we like ours is for the garage we saw the models that didn't have then and just didn't like the look we wanted a regular 5er that's able to bring toys as well we thought we would do more campgrounds than dez but we now do just the dez riding every trip. Its really nice when we get there if its late not to have to put all of it out to set up.
By bigger i mean more space a 5er will get you the most storage space, We had the chance to get the 14ft garage and didn't but now wish we had. Although we get 1 rhino & 4 dirt bikes i should state they are all 230's and a 125 but still good size bikes & all the gear & misc stuff if we had gotten the extra 2 feet maybe we wouldn't have to load the rhino like the beverly hillbillys but it works.
I would also have like no carpet its nice true but a pain when you are dez camping i would rather just sweep it out.
I am just saying if you think say a 32 ft model would work for you go for the 34ft if possible you never hear folks with toyhaulers say well i wish i bought a smaller trailer, When toyhuling there are so many extras to bring most of us spend alot of time outside the hauler I wish i had known that i would have bought a haulmark with a potty and some beds instead
Our hauler has plenty of living space even though we have the garage last thanksgiving we had 7 very comfortable around dinette (added folding table) and could have fit at least 5 more all around the table when we are unloaded its nice to be able to have a place for the dirty gear etc.... without getting the living part all messy works just perfect for us. You should think on how you will use it maybe garage is not for you some cant do it or some don't want to go 38 ft we like that we can sleep 1-12 people we have 5 kids and 4 grandkids & their mates, so we wanted to be able to sleep alot of people comfortably.

I too have a 3612DS, an 07...simply love it. Some minor things, but all rv's do. From my soapbox, you cant go wrong with the Raptor line. Keystone makes alot of trailers so they do know there stuff. My suggestion is get the biggest one you can tow and afford!
I'm really happy with what I have...but I did see the Raptor 380LEV...14 foot garage, fireplace, 2 fridges, 2 LCDs, 39'11"...if I could keep the same payment....hmmm

i also liked the 299 and the 3612. i wanted to keep a safety margin with my truck. the truck is a 2005 2500 dodge ram short bed. it has the power to pull my two trailers and seems to stop fine. right now i'm at 1800 hitch weight and according to the tires i'm good for 6200 on the axle. the rear axle weighs just under 3000#. the hitch weight of the 300 is 2400#. so that leaves 600# safety margin. plus i didn't want to look for 38 foot camp spots and don't really feel safe towing something with that much hitch weight. the total weight i feel comfortable with. my combined weight now is 19000#. i thought the smaller garage model will work but i sure do like the 3612 and 3712. the utility trailer i'm using now is a 6.5 x12 i carry two honda recon quads and a little 50 eton rascal. and also a barbie quad for my daughter. we have space left over on the trailer. so i thought i could put the quads straight in side by side. any thoughts or feedback on that? if putting two quads side by side works than i think a 10 foot garage would be plenty. any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated...

CW seems to be having some real problems. I've heard that they're very motivated to shed their inventory. You might be able to make a pretty good deal there.
I'm still bummed that our speedway is RIP. We sure had some good times there.
