I have a Chevy Colorado that I bought to act as a dinghy and trailer for the motorcycle and it works well. There are times that I am only going for a few days to a motorcycle event and I am wondering if a small motorcycle trailer would work better.
How does a small motorcycle trailer pull vs the dinghy?

Any suggestions?

I tow my Harley on a small trailer behind my MH. The trailer only weighs 250 lbs. so it is easy to push around and keep in your site. I don't even know I'm towing anything! I bought it on www.discountrailers.com and had to put it together but it was worth it. I think it was about $1,200.00.

Dependent upon the side of your RV and the size of your bike, you could place a motorcycle lift/rack on the back of your RV and eliminate the need for a trailer. If you have the bike on the back of your RV or on a trailer that does not have a shield/cover, you can plan on washing your bike every time before you ride.
There are various types of bike trailers of different weights that effect mpg. If there are only two of you traveling, then you do not need your truck for transportation unless your transporting friend too, but if the weather is wet - you might need your truck. It is all individual preference and a decision if a bike trailer is a luxury or necessity worth the added expen$e.

I converted a 4x4 utility trailer to a mc trailer, towing was a snap. Could push it around anywhere. Many available online, also a cool one I saw at Daytona that will pack into a bag.

A trailer will work fine for you occasional needs, but even a good trailer can go wrong (see this link).
