I was their about 6 yrs ago. I found 3 sites with open ground.
Reported it to the office. They never did anything about them.
At the time I was their, you had to go to the office every day. They would only let you register for one night at a time.
From what they charged back than and having stayed their, I would go someplace else.
But that is me. They may have changed in the last 6 years.

We went thru the place 2 years ago. It was not a place I would want to stay, didn't look like it was being managed by anyone. We stayed a few days at the KOA north of town. About the nicest KOA we have ever been in. There is also Brantly Lake SP north of Carlsbad. There is also a park in Carlsbad. We took a look but was not very nice, but it has an indoor pool. At that time the place needed work and the pool was ugly.
Much longer drive to the cavern from the KOA or Brantly Lake but Whites City and the cg in town were not an option.
The Carlsbad Caverns are amazing!!

I have never stayed there but the campground and the entire city (White's City) was sold not too long ago. I would be interested if anyone has stayed there since the sale. The news reports made it sound like everything was being updated and under new and better management.

That would be nice, but if it is not being cleaned and upgraded, then the only words that properly describes the RV park is "TOWN DUMP".

The DW and I were there last summer and stayed one night in the old part at the end of the stores, like most said not much of a park, but we just wanted a place to stay for the night and go to the cave the next day. They do have a new part back off to the back of the old one that I saw some nicer MH and trailers if I remember right it has 50 amp only and I did't have a addapter for 50 to 30 amp, this might be the reason the rateing is across the board. Just FYI, we are currently in Carlsbad RV Park on the hwy to Whites City. It is nice. We had a issue with the electric when we got here and the owner was at the site in 5 minutes and had it repaired in short order. They have an indoor swimming pool and fenced off dog walks. Would recommend this park to you and it is not that far from the caverns.
