Hi: Richmond, Virginia will be our first stop on a casual trip down to Florida in Feb. Anyone been there; is it worth spending an afternoon? Or, is there a more interesting spot near Richmond?

All ideas on restaurants, points of interest, etc. are welcome.

DH could drive 24/7 but I have to take a break and walk around. We will spend the first night in a hotel that accepts a dog. Then we will de-winterize and continue on.

Thanks. Sheila and Ed

I don't know of a lot to do but we love this restaurant:

The Tobacco Company

How about a slight detour to Colonial Williamsburg?

If you enjoy history Richmond is a good place to visit. I'd recommend either the Museum of the Confederacy or the Tredegar Iron Works since you just have one afternoon.

No disrespect to Richmond but that would be my suggestion as well.

They just opened a Bass Pro Shop/Outdoor World just north of Richmond on I95. Make sure you get a good shot of testosterone before going in. Free parking for anyone with a deer on their hood.

we just went to richmond this past summer but due to high cost coming from texas we just flew and left rv at home. We ended up and stayed in Williamsburg. As above posted if you like the history that is where to be. We also went up to Jamestown and stopped at the Victory Center. The kids liked it the best and then went down to old part of Jamestown and let them play on the Beach and had one of the best meals on the trip. Can not remember the name but it was only one on the waterfront. If there are places for RV at colonial Willamsburg would recommend that. You could spend several days looking at all of the old buildings and stuff.

Have a good trip.

WilliaMSBURG/jAMESTOWN/yORKTOWN ARE ALL RIGHT TOGETHER AND TONS OF HISTORY SITES TO SEE, and good restaurants galore. Far more interesting than Richmond.

Excuse the caps. Fat fingers tonight!!!!!!!!
