RE: Vin id and general Q's

I bought a 74 model a few years ago and it didn't have a vin #. So in KY. the DMV will issue another vin plate. Might check with the TX dmv.

RE: New Travel Trailer

aeohio We purchased a Salem by Forest River 26 TBSS (tripple bunk supper slide) in Hamilton, Ohio this spring. We are very happy with it and they have the 2010 for less than $14,000. Bob

RE: How much do you tip at Sonic?

I usually tip according to the quality of the service. I know that they work hard and if they do there job right they should be rewarded for it. But they are not entitled to a tip.....IMHO

RE: Newbie! 26' TT.

Congrats on your new TT, We just purchased a 26TBSS this year in Ohio too. Only ours is a Salem instead of a Wildwood (both Forest River) We love ours too. Oh yeah, on the walk through they told us to be sure and shut the bathroom door before putting the slide in :)

RE: Fridge problem

It could be the slide on the finns in the back of the ref. part. Slide it up and be sure the little end part of the thermostat is clipped in.

RE: Recommendations?

Since you are 6-4 be sure and get one with ducted AC. Will save a lot of knots lol.

RE: Tongue Jack?

Take it from an old home builder, the cement (cinder) blocks are not a wise choice. They can have unseen cracks and crush if they are used improperly. Most people usen them with the flat sides up and down, and they have little strength that way. If you are going to use them put the holes up and place a 2x or steel plate on top.

RE: Using your RV Toilet & Showers

If we just stay 2 days we can use the rv shower, but we are retired and stay 4 or 5 days a lot. By using the bath houses we don't have to mess with dumping until we leave. Now to get back to watching those other silly campers, hmmmm I wonder why they are doing that lol.

RE: squeaky floor fix

I have had the same type of problem. I was able to put a screw down through the floor inside the cabinets near the spot, and it helped but did not stop it completely. would this be possible inside the vanity or under the tub? If you can you can get seam sealer from a floor covering sales and fill the hole. My trailer floor joist ran from the front to the back as apposed to running side to side. Hopes this helps.

RE: Trouble with refrigerator when using propane

It sounds like your system is working like it should. When you first turn the gas on, it takes a while for the line to bleed the air out. What you are doing by bleeding the air out by lighting the cook top is the proper thing to do. The clicking noise is the electronic egnighter trying to light the propane. There is no pilot light. The flame that makes the fridge work is about the size of a pilot light. Both tt's I have had will loose presure when the gas is turned off for very long and I always have to rebleed the lines. Happy camping

RE: stickhouse flooring question

Retired builder of 43 years. If you mean concrete floor (instead of foundation) You would be better off with ceramic, slate or something of this type. Both floors you mentioned will scratch if there is small rocks in the shoes. I have a gravel drive and ceramic that has been here for 20 years, it still looks good.

RE: Refrigerator won't stay lit

When burning the range top, be sure the gas quits burning yellow and is all blue. Then the air is out of the line.

RE: Gulfstream heater ducts..?

You can get a register that closes, to replace the one in the bedroom and partly close it. Or lay something over part of the bedroom register.

RE: Rv Purchase at Factory or Dealer

We just bought a new 09 from a dealer in OH at dealer cost, but we had to look for 1 1/2 years before finding it.
