RE: Hitch Receiver Setup

If it has a breakaway system, there will be a separate battery on the trailer, and a small square box with a pin in it on the trailer hitch, and a cable you hook to the truck hitch. They are relatively easy to install if you don't have one.

RE: Why was this closed. Plans for the Fourth?

Probably because the moderator insisted on deleting my post (which BTW broke no rules) I kept re-posting it. That is what happens when a moderator lets his personal opinions of a poster interfere with moderating.

RE: ICBC Refund be careful

I had issues in Baja but they did refund it. no problem with the mainland this year. I took a copy of the vehicle permit before I put it on the truck.
I also took a picture of my truck & trailer in front of a Pemex station with a dated newspaper in the foregorund, just in case.

RE: Travel thru Vancouver,BC

If you do go horsehoe bay, there is an HOV lane just after the Port Mann bridge on the left hand side, You can use it in a TC as long as you have one other person. Use the other ferry though if you can.

RE: Will it be that easy? Final Update

I believe they are supposed to stretch 1/4 inch. You will find they loosen on one side or another due to the camper shifting slightly.

RE: camper batteries

Are you sure it doesn't have a cheap convertor that is destroying them. My old camper had that issue.

RE: 16.5 rims with E-load tires

Aluminum rims with a TC are not a good idea. Just ask Sirwilliam.

RE: Alaska Highway - Rock hit camper = 1 inch hole!

I used fibreglass reapir kit when it happened to my Adventurer. If the camper had been newer i would have had a boat place do it.
You didn't happen to spot my brothers group did you? He was leading a bunch of vintage bentleys on a trip to Anchorage & back.

RE: West Coast Truck Camper Rally

Plenty in the NW, There was one a couple of years ago in southern california, a joint one between the Lance Owners of America & NATCOA. Havent been aware of any more in Socal since. Nothing on the scale of the mid atlantic one, which is a bit odd since TC's are more common out west. There is one in WA state in early October.

Anyone for a Labor Day Weekend Caravan & rally in SW BC?

I have a group campground available in Cache Creek ( 4 hours from border) & a possibility for a fantastic catered BBQ in Merritt for lunch on Labor day. Here is the proposed itinerary:
Meet at Walmart in Abbotsford BC Saturday morning. This is 2 km north of the Sumas, WA border crossing. People crossing Fri night can boondock in this Walmart. It is also possible we can use the old Adventurer plant parking lot if it's not sold by then. If anyone can be there by 7:30 PM on Fri we will go out for a group dinner at a nearby Chinese smorgasbord (very good food & cheap)
Caravan up through the historic & scenic Fraser River Canyon on Saturday with stop at Hells Gate and the Elvis Cafe (you have never seen so much Elvis stuff in one place)
Camp Sat night at Brookside RV in Cache Creek (they have a group site & a pool)
Sun for those intersted I can see if it is possible to reserve river rafting on the Thompson river (mainly class 3, some 4's). About 4 hours & costs around $100.
Monday morning drive 60 miles to Merrit for a catered BBQ. My brother who is involved with the BMW car club of BC says they have used this guy & its the best BBQ he has ever been to,. If you know brother you know he knows his food.
Monday afternoon a 3 hour drive down the Coquihalla Hwy back to Sumas/Abbotsford. A stop at the Hope tunnels if anyone wants.
Reply back or PM me if intersted, I am trying to get an idea of numbers.

RE: Supersprings & Stable Loads together

I just spoke again with Mark. Stable loads with Superspings are not an issue on the GM, but you SHOULD NOT use them together on Dodge or Ford.
Brad: You might want to add this info to the university section, since it is a safety issue.

Supersprings & Stable Loads together

I got a message from Mark @ superprings saying that stable loads & supersprings should not be used together. Here is what he said:
"while meant to work with air bag & factory overload set ups, they shouldn't be used, lets say are not recommended for use, with supersprings. The reason is as the load stops come into contact with the spring blade from top, the force can in turn disengage the roller below the factory spring pack."
Now I have both on my truck, but its a GM, so they are actually on the bottom overload spring which is not impacted by the installation of supersprings and should not be able to cause the condition he describes. So I think this is probably an issue the Ford & dodge. I am trying to clarify this with him.
Anyway just passing the info on, I will update when I hear more.

RE: Ease my worries! 2005 Host

Did you use a breathable cover? I was told by a manufacturer that a cover that does not breathe is asking for trapping moisture & causing delam.
