RE: Propane leak

I'm with kohldad. Check the oven knobs. I had the same problem. Someone had bumped the oven knob or left it on pilot. It was a real dull odor, and was just enough to make you wonder.

RE: Mystery door

Make sure you get everything out of there before you unload the camper. I’ve had a few “oh snap” incidents where I left something in there when unloading. It can deform a tackle box.

RE: Mystery door

On my old Jayco, I made removable screens that were applied to the out side. When camping on the beach, we would get a nice breeze through there.

RE: GM 6.5” rim w/ 265/75/16-E tires

ticki2 Do you know if the 2001 7 inch rim will fit a 99?

GM 6.5” rim w/ 265/75/16-E tires

As related to my truck camper setup, My research indicates that the 265’s require a 7, 7.5, or 8 inch rim (researching tire manufacturer's web sites). Everyone I have talked to say they run 265’s on the GM 6.5 inch rim and that GM even offered the 265 as an option (I have not been able to confirm that). GM said that 6.5 inch was the widest they made in 99 on the K3500 SRW. What would be the result of not following the tire manufacture’s recommendation? Would you see unusual wear in the center of the tread? Or, would you see a total tire failure? 99 Chevy K3500 SRW Super Crew Long Bed 6.5x16 stock rim 265/75/16-E tires. Running 800 pounds under on the tires.

RE: Alpenlite roof ISSUE!!! HELP!

I understand that the correct fix for this problem is to remove all the accessories from the roof, remove the robber roof, repair the roof deck, and install a new rubber roof. This may sound a little shade tree, but I think this is what I would do. 1.Remove the side edging (since it looks like this damage is near the edge). 2.(deleted) 3.Use a sharp utility knife to cut the rubber roof out over the damaged area. 4.Re-attach the roof decking with a few screws. 5.Re-attach the piece of rubber roof with proper adhesive. 6.Use EternaBond EternaBond Linkto seal the cuts in the rubber roof. 7.Re-install the side edging. 8.If you are real paranoid (like me) of this shade tree repair, go over the EternaBond with flow seal for rubber roofs.

RE: Intelli-Power/Charge Wizard-Optima Blue Top=Question

good thought, about the light on the wizard. I guess it would be a good indicator of the status of the charge cycle.

RE: Intelli-Power/Charge Wizard-Optima Blue Top=Question

Reddog1, I get what you are saying about the wizard. I can see how puting it into the boost mode would not be good over time.

RE: Intelli-Power/Charge Wizard-Optima Blue Top=Question

reddog1, fill me in on how to use the wizard and how I may damage the battery. I've used IP and the wizard before and just thought it was automatic.

Intelli-Power/Charge Wizard-Optima Blue Top=Question

As related to truck campers, I’m getting ready to upgrade my converter/charger to the Intelli-Power with Charge Wizard. Wizard then I am planning on upgrading my battery to two Optima Blue Tops. Optima I have two questions. 1. Is the Intelli-Power/Charge Wizard compatible with the Optima AGM batteries? 2. Can the Optima Blue Top battery be mounted inside the camper without being vented outside? The web site states that the battery may be mounted in any direction. That tells me that it must be completely sealed.

RE: can you guess what this is?

you need to call Tork lift. You can sell that idea. I'm off to figure out how I can rig one up asap.

RE: Turnbuckle length / position queston

Long ones are spring loaded and they go in the front. Short ones go in the rear.

RE: Cab-over Clearance on an F-250/F-350

Addiction The Jayco was really my Dad’s camper. I used it for a little while when he lost interest and purchased a travel trailer. When I found the Coachmen, It was time to let go of the clutter in the yard. At one point, I had 7 vehicles and 3 campers in the yard. My neighbor was starting to complain. I also collect Jeeps.

Surfrat, 10-4, that works, I got 48 inches. I appreciate the info. The guy I sold the camper to picks it up in mid August. I was trying to eliminate any surprises. You saved the day. Thanks. Conch Cruiser James R. Hatcher Southport,NC

RE: Cab-over Clearance on an F-250/F-350

If you can tell me the measurement between the bed of your truck and the top of the cab + clearance lights, I can figure the rest out. Thanks

Cab-over Clearance on an F-250/F-350

Can anyone tell me how much distance I need from the bed of the truck to the top of the cab of a newer F-250/F-350 to clear the bottom of the cab-over? I just sold a 93 Jayco to a guy. He has an F-250. The only measurement we did not check was the height of the cab from the bed of the truck. I know that, in some cases, the cab over may be close or touch the top of the cab. I was trying to avoid adding a piece of foam or ply-wood to build it up. I hope someone can give me the measurement. Thanks.

Truck Camper Plate

Does anyone know where I can buy something like this without going to ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/50s-60s-Truck-Camper-RV-Toy-Decorative-Plate-MINT_W0QQitemZ300331461792QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45ed266ca0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A317%7C293%3A4%7C294%3A50http://cgi.ebay.com/50s-60s-Truck-Camper-RV-Toy-Decorative-Plate-MINT_W0QQitemZ300331461792QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45ed266ca0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A317%7C293%3A4%7C294%3A50

RE: AC fan control

I had a Polar Cub in my old camper. It had extra fan settings on the knob that did not do anything. When I inquired, I was told that if you add heat strips, a different knob is used and the blank spots operate the heat. I don’t know about your Duo-Therm.
