RE: Shore Power Cord - Repair or Replace

1 1/2 foot from the male end? I vote to keep it simple and just replace the male end.

RE: pet distracted motor home driver in fatal weekend crash

It's not "apparently" anymore (from the Wisconsin State Journal):
"The crash Saturday that killed an Iowa Boy Scout leader and one of three Scouts on a trip with him in the town of Verona was caused by a dog jumping into the lap of a man driving a motor home, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
The dog created a distraction for the driver of the motor home, sheriff’s spokeswoman Elise Schaffer said, causing him to cross the median."

RE: Sea-Tac Airport

Most of them rent out of the parking garage, but some of them have satellite offices (usually within a couple blocks). Check on that for certain. Last time I flew in there, I believe I used Enterprise or National and it was about 3 blocks from the terminal. It had an open lot.
That's sketchy, so I hope someone from the Seattle/Tacoma area will throw in with better info.

RE: A/C dripping inside

I will admit to a similar symptom a few years ago in Florida and I spent quite a bit of time on top of our rig trying to find the problem. It turns out that we literally had to defrost our unit - the humidity was so high and we had the unit turned up too much and it just iced up, causing dripping lots of places we have never seen before. If I would have taken off the interior cover and filter first, I would have seen the problem immediately.
Maybe that's not it for you, but here's hoping it is something that simple. Good luck.

RE: TV while camping

I won't vouch for Dish Network (implying nothing - just no experience with them), but we have done this basic thing with DirecTV for years. Tripod mount (around $20 from Radio Shack), pvc pipe (had it laying around), spare dish (hand-me-down), coax cable, a receiver from the house (don't forget the remote!), a decent compass or signal finder and we were in business.
I've never once mentioned it to them and never had a problem.

RE: learning to tow

- Get comfortable driving the truck with the rearview mirror tilted all the way down or covered with a couple Post-It-Notes.
- I'd recommend the parking lot next to get lots of starts/stops to get the feel of it, making turns and trying to work on backing (I still take time and mentally double-check each time before I put it in reverse and take my foot off the brake).
- Take some in-town trips when traffic is light (early Sundays, later on weekdays, etc.)
- Plan a trip just for experience that takes you through some city streets, a stretch of highway, a parking lot or two and home. Nothing fancy - a 2-hour test trip would be perfect.
You can do this - thousands upon thousands do it every year. Take your time, leave yourself plenty of room and don't ever let a honking horn bother - just pretend you are actually on vacation, smile and wave to the nice people racing off to their jobs!
