RE: Medicine cabinet latch fix

We ended up putting one of the rods that you can extend by screwing it apart or or together, just put it in front of the door while traveling or drop it down while camped and use it as a wash rag--towel holder then back up when traveling. All mods are useful and the best part is they work for (YOU.)

RE: Do I need air bags?

Till you have driven the truck W/ TC on it is hard to tell if you will feel comfortable with the way it rides and drives, one thing that will help with ride and handling is a rear anti sway bar. I have a 3500 DRW and it did not come with one -- with wind here that was the best aftermarket thing that I installed (except for the CAMPER) JMHO

Honda 2000 tied to Honda 1000

Has anyone tried this, I have the 2000 now but do not need that much when camping in cooler weather with the TC. Been thinking of getting a 1000 and when needed tie the two together for more power when needed or am I just doing some wishfull thinking?:@

RE: How do I disable the 12V option on 3 way fridge?

You might have to go to another control board that does not recignize the 12v. Probably best to contact the guys that make the "DINO" board and see if there is a way to trick the board you have. JMHO

RE: Make a hot water recirculating system

We are lucky with the way ours is laid out,(ours is a Summerwind that went out of business in the early 2000's)-- hot water is a short 18" from water heater to bathroom sink. As a suggestion for a fix on yours, (could you put a "T" in the shower line that comes from bathroom sink to the shower head and run a line (with shut off valve) from there to a "T" on the suction side of the water pump. That way all you need to do is lift the valve on the back of the faucet and the water would return to the pump and be sent to the heater again. The draw back would be that you forgot to turn off the shower head and then you would have a (cold wet back). JMHO

RE: trailer under truck camper for mobile storage?

When storing our first TC, I set it on a trailer made out of a pickup box and frame, only had enough springs on it to hold axel in place, the frame was bent inwards to make a hitch and that way I could off load the camper to the trailer and move it around with the truck any where you would like to. RE: battery charging ?

I am with 100 ton, easy to check -- run a seperate ground wire from a good connection on the camper to the frame of the truck. Open the door on frig and see if it is still blinking with turn signal. If not then you only have one wire to check out and repair, the grounding circuit. Please let us know what you found.

RE: MPG with toad?

We tow, (take a look @ my profile) sometimes it take around (1) mpg, sometimes not -- depends on wind and if you have a lot of up hill driving. We are presently in Bolder City Nevada and since we left WY. we have been in 6 other states and have put over 500 mi. on the towed and almost all of them are in places that the TC could not go so if gas milage drop is stoping you from exteriencing the out of the way places you could not go my only suggestion is to forget the extra gas and tow. But then again this is only my opinion.

RE: Fridge blows Gnd Fault Interrupt

Are you plugging in to the shore power plug of the TC or are you unplugging the cord on the frig from the recepticle on the TC and then plugging only the frig to a 110 V outlet?

RE: window tint suggestions

We had a "C" for a while and I bought a roll of window tint from a big box store and as "Rock" said just soapy water and a razor blade did the trick. Lots cooler and more privacy. Did all the windows except the ones in the cab.

RE: charging battery while driving

For a quick way to test if it is or is not, (hopefull the TC is on the truck) check the battery voltage in the TC, with the cord plugged into truck -- start truck and see if the voltage goes "UP" , turn the truck "OFF" and see if the voltage goes back down. JMHO

RE: Three options. Which would you choose and why?

We ordered ours set up the way we wanted -- Gas -- I get migraines from diesel exhaust even when walking across a parking lot where there is one running and yes it is a PIA. -- 2X4 -- the toad is a 4X4 to do back roads and when traveling and roads are bad we stay put. -- DRW -- more stable in wind and carries the weight and makes both of us more at ease.

RE: May have water in supply lines frozen`

You might try using a hair dryer on the lines that are accesable, I had a frozen line to the toilet once and thawed it in about 30 seconds and it was in the teens the night before it happened. In my opinion using air on a frozen line will not cause any cracking as long as the pressure in not above what the normal pressure of the water pump, such as 40 PSI. Make sure all cupbord doors are open as well as all water valves, then when you get air to a valve, shut it off and try for another line to a valve. Usualy time and temp is your only hope to thaw a frozen water system. Hope none of the lines are broken.

RE: leaving tc on truck

Ours is on the truck almost all the time, been off once in 07 for about 3 hrs and in 06 about 2 weeks. My profile has the set up we have. I do not run the jacks down while in the shop. The suspension is stock.

RE: no power

There will be no 110 v AC power unless you run it thru a inverter ( power from 12v battery that makes it into 110v AC) when the gen set is off or you are not hooked to shore power. JMHO

RE: Hot water repair

Not an expert on plumbing, but it sounds like there is a valve stuck or not opened on the outlet side of the heater. The easy way to check if you have incoming pressure is to lift the pressure relief lever slowly ( wear gloves and be careful the water could be very HOT)and if you have a goodly amount of pressure there then there is an outlet problem either an auto back pressure valve or maybe the heater bypass valve is closed. JMHO
