RE: Julian Price BRP North Carolina

From what I remember, the sites on the lake are the small ones. Kind of short & close together. Sites in other sections, wooded & larger sites should be able to accomodate you.

RE: Hello, let me introduce myself..........

North Country is made by Heartland. You can get all the info you want on www.heartlandownersforum.com. Free to join, you can be a prospective buyer.
We previously owned a North Trail made by Heartland which was a great unit.
Traded only because we needed a larger layout not available to us in Heartland rig. We considered a North Country when we bought our Holiday Rambler.

RE: Beer Cheese

This beer cheese recipe sounds great. Question just how much cheese do we use. 1 to 2 lbs is a big different in amount of cheese? Thanks Deb
After rereading, I think it means one 2 pound box of Velvetta. I am going to try this! Wonder if Lite beer is OK~~

We carry bikes in the truck bed. Have a stand up rack for them. Never had a bike door.

RE: AAA roadside service...feedback from owners

We carried both AAA and Good Sam ERS for a while, and last year dropped AAA, as Good Sam covers both the RV and the toad for their annual rate. We figured it was better to have coverage from somebody we KNOW can handle the RV. Most anybody can handle the toad . .
al
If you have the Good Sam ERS, is your car(non tow vehicle) covered for issues? For example, other than when using your vehicle for towing? Currently have GS + AAA but thinking we can drop the AAA.

RE: Willow Tree Resort, Longs, SC

Have never been but have to say I have read a lot of reviews on it. Never saw anything negative. I think they also offer camper storage at the park.

RE: campground suggestion between SC and WV ??

Bandits Roost is on a nice sized lake. If you want to go west somewhat, Marion, VA has Hungry Mother St Park on a lake. You would have to connect with 81 from I 77. Scenic mountain lake. Some sites on water.

RE: Buying a Barker VIP 3500 Power Tongue Jack

Bought my Barker 3500 from an E-bay seller last year. Mantelli Trailer Sales MTSRV on E-bay. Called the direct at (716) 625-8877 and asked for their parts dept.. Jack was shipped to my house in 3 days. Very easy to work with. Price back the was $194.00 with free shipping. I bought my Barker from them and had it in 3 days also. They had the best prices I could find anywhere on Barker jacks. -Lee
Yes, we also had good service/product with Barker jack from Mantelli on Ebay.

RE: Grayson Highlands State Park,VA

Yes, dogs can go on trails :) The park does charge a $5 per pet EACH night along with reg. camp fees. Don't like that aspect...
They will let you choose a site when you arrive; upper restroom has better & more showers. Be prepared for cold temps at night.

Check into Bear Den, located off the Parkway. They are very family oriented. Not sure if there is a pool.

RE: North Trail or Rockwood...which TT is the better unit?

Here's a vote for North Trail. Owned a NT 26RKS & loved it. Traded only because we needed more space so we went longer & to a king sized slide. The construction and customer service is very good.
Check out these forums: www.northtrailers.com and www.heartlandownersclub.com. Tons of info & you will get answers to questions.

RE: Help a noob break a what to purchase tie please!!

Vote for Coachman... To me the size of fresh water tank is minor as we usually have water hookups. The larger size of holding tanks is a PLUS unless you always camp with sewer hookups. Looks like the others vote Coachman!! And yes, sink next to sofa is a real pain; people will get wet!

RE: Need TT Recommendation

I was also thinking of the North Trail 21.....very large U dinette; roomy for a 21 model. Owned a NT 26RKS which was a gem. Great customer service. Heartland also makes an Edge TT which is under 25' but I'm not familiar with the layout. Good luck with your search! You might want to go to www.northtrailers.com & www.heartlandowners.com You can register (free) & read & ask questions.
The NT 21 is the most popular model of the North Trail line.

Congratulations! I was camping in December & met some folks with a Dutchmen who really liked theirs. They got a deal because one side of TT had hail damage. I really liked the large windows they had on the awning side. ENJOY!!

RE: Quality Small Lightweight Trailer

Have a look at the Heartland North Trail FX19. In the back has larger bunk on the botton, smaller bunk on the top and the dinette/ couch turns to a queen size bed. Dry wt. 3584 lbs / GVWR 4900 lbs. 21' long.
MO
Heartland also makes the Edge. It is a smaller TT that comes in at least 2 different sizes.

RE: Normal slope (if any) with slide out extended?

We level ours, then put out slide. Ours does seems to go out with a slight angle then level out. As for the bubble, not sure I'd attach that on the slide since it could break free in transit & cause an issue with slide movement/ closure. Ours is a Cal. king slide & if retracted in rain without wiping, water will run off & down sides once retracted. Found that out....now we always sweep off & dry if retracting in rain.
Will be interested in other's replies.

RE: What's YOUR favoriite crock pot recipe?

Hi
My favorite recipe came from Raleys magazine in northern CA.
Crock Pot Corned Beef
1 Corned beef any size
1 bottle of apple cider
Place beef in the crock pot. Open the seasoning packet in the meat bag. Then immerse the meat in the apple cider. Cook 5-6 hours on low or until done. The meat will be stringy and tender. You can add potatoes and cabbage to the pot if you want. I do not like cabbage so I make my potato dish separate. The kids love this with mashed potatoes. You can use the country crock potatoes or instant in the RV.
I serve with cole slaw also.
