RE: How to know when to say goodbye?

Lots of good posts.
I'll add another thought.
I made this post a few years ago, and you may wish to consider it when the time comes: Yo-yo's family was with her...
Since that post, Football (Patience was there) and Patience (Mo'Be was there) have gone to the bridge.
If your other dogs have a good relationship with Lady, you may see a change in their relationship when the time comes.
Mo'Be is a rescue and learned much from Patience, and followed her lead. Patience had cancer, and it slowly took its toll. (Side note: We found some "bed pads" at the "human" medical supply store that are about 2 feet rectangular that helped with some of the "leaks", particularly at night.)
On a Friday, his relationship to her noticeably changed - he was telling us she was all but gone. On Saturday, we recognized he was correct and our vet made time for us. Mo'Be knew she was gone before the vet told us.
Our thoughts are with you.

RE: charging batts and fuse question **Problem Solved* pg.9

Thank you for trying your Honda generator. That essentially eliminates "Bad" AC power as the problem. That info should be relayed to Xantrex.
I assume that you purchased this unit from Xantrex and that there is a warranty. Before taking the trailer to a dealer, you should discuss with Xantrex any warranty implications or you could end up with the bill.
You listed "faults" that showed on the panel. The first two are not faults, but statements of the configuration settings: "Run without panel" allows the inverter to run even if the remote panel is not connected, and Auto Restart allows the inverter to attempt to restart 5 times after being shut down by an error (the other option is for it to require a manual restart).
I did not find Invert Charge Reset in the error list, but it may mean that it attempted to charge the batteries, but could not (without "Good" AC power).
The AC power light on the display only comes on when the inverter sees "Good" AC power (page 2-8 in the online manual).
Have you used the Diagnostic Mode to look at the faults that are stored (page 4-17 of the manual)? There is also a selection to show the AC Bad causes. Any faults listed may be useful in determining the problem.
I'm confident your electrician verified that the AC power was getting to the inverter, but I'll say that (from many posts and personal experience) the plugs and receptacles on extension cords and on the 15 amp to 30 amp adapters do go bad and can give some problems - a good voltage can show inside the RV with no AC loads, but disappears when something is turned on. You might have him double check that the voltage is getting to the inverter.

RE: testing converter

I wondered when the Victory converters would show up on the forum...
It's a complex legal issue, and you can read about it here: Parallax Power vs Victory Components. The info on pages 3 and 4 of that document provide the gist of it all.
Based on that court document, your Victory Components converter is a Parallax converter with different labels; but it may or may not have met Parallax's standards when built.
Is your Victory converter a part of a power center - circuit breakers and fuses are located in the same enclosure - or is it a separate "deck mount" unit? If part of a power center, it should be a clone of the Parallax 7300 series; and if a deck mount unit, a clone of the 7400 series. With the 5500 in the model number, I'll guess it is a 55 amp model.
You can see the Parallax models - and download manuals for them - here: Parallax Switching Converters.
The Parallax converters - and hence, the Victory Components converters - have a 13.8 volt output (standard version) and smkettner's post is correct - they are well known for causing high water usage in hot temperatures.
The "common cure" for members with the Parallax converters that are having problems with water usage is to replace the converter with one of four manufacturers' multi-stage converters - each has it's strong points and if you want recommendations, you should provide information on how you use the RV (usually have power when camping, boondocking, storage with or without power, etc.) and your battery size.

RE: charging batts and fuse question **Problem Solved* pg.9

Ellie,
I'll add my thoughts...
Getting the batteries recharged is important for their longevity.
I believe the primary problem is that the Prosine is not using or passing through the AC input voltage.
The Prosine has circuitry to detect "Bad" AC power, and will block it from passing through or being used to charge the batteries. It serves as a "power monitor" to protect the AC powered items.
I believe you have a generator that you have used when camping. I suggest that you use it as the AC power source for the trailer, and see if the inverter acts correctly.
The Bad AC circuitry in the Prosine has been reported in the past as finding problems with generators, and with low campground AC voltage. The circuitry checks for high and low AC voltage and frequency - you set the limits for them - and more problems that are not as clearly listed. It is possible, although not common, for your AC power to have some "problem" that the Prosine sees as "Bad" power even though other devices work on that power - such as the battery charger.
Some references:
Link to Prosine 2.0 Manual.
This is the latest manual. Look on page 4-8 for setting the voltage and frequency limits, and the troubleshooting info on page 6-3 for AC Bad Causes; and note the information on page 6-8.
In the older manual, which you may have, the pages do not have the section number format - just sequential numbering. The information for setting the voltage and frequency limits begins on page 48. The troubleshooting information is on page 74.

RE: Love'n Your Cat Photo Album

There is a Sticky thread at the top of the main page for pet pictures:
Link to Pet Pictures topic.
For those wondering how to post pictures, there is a thread in the Forum Technical Support forum with good information on that: RV.Net Tutorials and Picture related FAQ's.
I'll close this thread, but you may choose to click on the Edit button on your post and then copy your post and then paste it into a new Reply in the Pet Pictures thread.
