RE: Wind Chimes

We try to camp on sites so large that the chimes or lights of the people next to us do not bother us. That means that there are a lot of campgrounds we do not go to.

RE: Ultimate RV Trip Destination

I would want to spend a year traveling but my husband would not. I have moved him from two weeks and ready to go home after one to complaining that six weeks is not enough. Maybe I should go down and buy a Lotto ticket.

RE: New member and new owner.

Have fun. Take a notebook or something along to write down all of the things you should have brought and did not. Also list all of the things that you take into the house and will need next time. After a few times out take a box to put all of the things that you took and are useless. I taped a dry erase thingy to the inside of the pantry door to write those forgtten things on. I really miss a refrigerator with a metal door to hold magnets

RE: Teaching old kitty new trick

Our cat would beg to be taken for a walk just before we went to bed while we were camping. He knew he had to be on a leash and when we went to the door he would go sit on the leash we had laid on the floor near the door.

RE: Ladybugs.....

I do not think they are lady bugs but how you can tell the differnce is beyond me. They do bite. Japanese beetles? We have thousands several years ago but now there are not as many. At least I hope we will not have as many again as we had than.

RE: This guy decided not to return his rental RV in 2002

And what did he do with it? Is it parked somewhere or did he sell it? Or trade it in on a boat? Enquiring minds want to know more.

RE: Canadian bacon

I wonder if turkey white meat could be used the same way. I have a roast sitting in the freezer that I have to use up and we have all had enough turkey.

RE: Under Counter TV

I was cleaning the cupboard above my home kitchen undercounter TV and found that one of the screws was working loose and was sticking up over an inch. In the TT mount them with something so that cannot happen. My husband put something around the screw so it cannot work loose again. I love having one in the kitchen that does not take up counter space. And we have had it for over three years before this happened.

RE: NEED HELP...Madison is destroying our backyard!!!

Go down to Dollar Tree and get several bottles of red pepper flakes. Pepper the plants and that should keep him from eating them. I suggest Dollar Tree assuming that all of the stores carry about the same things and the price is right.

RE: Bedding & Dinnerware

We have four narrow bunks, I tore the bottom sheets down the length and sewed them back together. We started out with great towels in the bathroom. They took up too much room on the shelves and I changed to some that are not quite as thick. I can get more towels on the shelf and these still dry well. Getting towels that are too think would be a mistake also.

RE: First come, first served COE

If you can get to a campground Sunday afternoon thru Friday morning you have a better chance of getting a site. Friday afternoon thru Saturday evening your chances are not as good and Thursday afternoon if you are in an area with a larger population you chance will be iffy.

RE: Doctor visit

I saw Dr. Frankenstein on Tuesday. The first time we went to a party at his house our seven year old son begged us not to go. He did not realize the doctor he had gone to was named Frankenstein. I am not sweeet enough to have high blood sugar I guess.

RE: camping soon

We checked out the campground last Sunday and found over a dozen lots plowed out so people hve been camping all year here but we are waiting until most of the snow is gone from the woods, another week probably and than we may have more. We will try to get out earlier but ours will definetly start April 11 snow or not.

RE: Factory Order or Dealer Stock??

I would suggest that you go to dealer with the price that you can get it from RV Direct and ask him if he can meet the price. He might be able to.

RE: adding fan to dining canopy

We have a table that several small fans fit on. Each fan can be aimed at a different area or person and moved to near the campfire Our cat had to have his own. The fans keep mosquitos away, work better than sprays.

RE: Itching for Camping Weather!

My husband was out shoveling snow from around our TT yesterday. He still has lots more to shovel. Our local park will plow out a site but we have not been able to get out this winter. We will make a visit this week to see how much snow there still is in the woods and hope to get out before Easter.

RE: Plastic Water Barrels

Would a box of baking soda added to water in the barrel remove the taste? I wanted to use a small vinegar bottle for something else and put a tea spoon of baking soda into the bottle and let it sit for a few days.

RE: Oscar winners...your thoughts

Have not watched any movies, will not and will not watch the Oscars. This is not for any good moral reason, we just do not, there is always something better to do. If I see the ads when the movies come out I often think that I will watch them when they come to TV or I can buy them but when the time comes I do not care. As a child we went to the movies once or twice a week and for a quarter I could see a double feature, buy one stick of bubble gun, a candy bar and a small bag of pop corn but it is not the price that keeps me from going now. I do see plays several times a year.

RE: One Thing

Pajamas, it was years ago and now there are always two pair packed. We have let people use our extension cords, can openers, tuck tape, matches and dozens of other things that they have forgoteen but the only thing we have ever left at home was the pajamas.

RE: Comments on Keystone Outbacks Anyone?

Ours is a 03 that we have used for 80-100 nights a year and still have not had a major problem. Ours problems have not amounted to anything, the drawers popped out when traveling and after I bought new latches, my husband found that screws in each drawer had to be tightened. Last time he tightened them I made him use some glue on the screws so they are less apt to loosen again. Just last night we were talking about all of the friends we have with really expensive MHs or 5Ws that have had so many problems, not us. The pull out bed is a pain to make, I pull it out a little from the wall to get the fitted sheet on in the back. When we cold weather camp I covered a piece of foam to fit along the back wall. Some people use a leeping bag instead but we prefer to make the bed up. Perhaps the bathroom linen closet now is divided into more shelves than ours was but I made my husband divide ours into several shorter shelves.
