RE: Question for full timers

You have good ideas . However, Let me point out to you one thing that you have not mentioned. I know you are in the Navy and you are used to close quarters. Is that what you want for the next few years AT HOME ? You can get a good used fiver with slides, that have no trouble, but give the room, and a used truck to pull it with for less than you are thinking about paying for the MOHO, plus you would have no toad to worry about . Consider both, look very strongly at a good used fiver with slides and a good used truck. Dont worry about the slides, the alum sides, filon sides etc, both the fiver and the moho have the same problems. MAINTENANCE ! You take care of them and they will take care of you, but you get a whole lot more room with a fiver than a MOHO. Thank you for your service !!!!

RE: Known overweight failures

Years ago, I was going down the road, actually on Wolf Creek pass, pulling a 28 ft TT behind My 82 Fleetwood Elandon. As I went down the hill, I was using 3, then 2, then low gear. I noticed a TT , JUST LIKE MINE, trying to pass me. Uh oh, it was MINE. I finally got the thing stopped , pulled over on the side of the road, cleaned out my pants, and took a small nap , right there and right then. I continued down the road to the next town, decided I felt bad, went to the doctor, and he told me this............................. Lose twenty pounds and I think you will be feeling better. You think?

Thousand Trails and its "Openness for non members"

Can we discuss this ? I know there are many on here that are members, and I , being an old TT member who dislikes their pay system, would be interested in using their parks. So...........all you TT members, can you enlighten me on this?

RE: Check my Florida itinerary, please.

Fla did not pass that state wide, Just the towns that have people in power to distrust (I use that word in place of HATE) rvers. Stay out of the big towns , where the big money is, and you will have no trouble.

RE: Ticket in a National Monument

He asked for your information? And you supplied it? Without questions? Did you already have reservations? And if you did, why did he need that information? \ Oh by the way, I need your bank account numbers and savings etc. Please send to me in PM.

RE: Check my Florida itinerary, please.

David and Deb, have no fear, Fla does not allow overnighting in many of their towns. But, now But, there are plenty of rest stops, closed McDonalds, grocery stores, parks, shopping centers, etc that many , including myself , have spent and do spend many a nights in. Use you head and you will have NO TROUBLE finding places to dry dock for the night. I would suggest you take I-49 out of Shvpt down to LaFayette and then I-12. On both routes , there are plenty of places to dry dock. Then on I-12 and I-10 there are the best rest areas in the u.s. in Miss. Once you cross the fla line, there are rest stops galore with security if your so minded. If you take 75, there are plenty and 95 is basically the same. Lots of places. Save that money for the dive boat. Be sure and take the underwater hotel tour.

RE: fifth wheel prices

How do you find the REAL MSRP? Call three dealers in three different states. Compare the EXACT trl with the EXACT extras etc. That shoule tell you where to start. No dealer is going to tell you the price he has, without having a heck of a mark up on it. There is an old rule in rvs, called the 60/40 rule. If you dont know what that means, it is 60 of what you are asking for the rv is what he gave for it. Either by trade or by mfgr. 40% is his markup. You can go from there based on the three prices you get of the EXACT rv.

RE: DELAWARE SEASHORE STATE PARK...CASINO??

Personally, I think anything they can and do build on the eastern coast is GREAT, it keeps the people THERE and brings in the others. Ya know keeps the Yanks at home and the seekers up there.

RE: Can't justify the expense of a new camper!

My wife and I fulltimed all our adult lives. We have lived and camped in everything you can imagine and some you wouldnt want to imagine. I lost her almost two years ago, and let me tell you something. I still have lots of time, I still have the rvs, BUT II DONT HAVE HER ANYMORE but I HAVE THE MEMORIES THAT THE RVS MADE. The memories have NO PRICE TAG , they are PRICELESS.

RE: O.K. One more time with this ques with no particular terms

You wont like my response Im sure. But if YOU dont know when to run the generator or "stealth dock", then you should not try it. How can anyone on this forum tell you when it is OK?

RE: Good site directory, Also Arlington, TX

If you are looking for an inexpensive site, you are gonna get what you pay for. In the Dal/FtW area, most of the mobile home parks that have rv spaces are what most people wont stay at. But if you insist, check the local YELLOW pages for Mobile Home parks,. There are plenty. Be sure and tell your parents to program 911 on their cell phones, if they stay in one.

RE: Roadrunnery RV Park Deming, NM

Why not dry dock at the wall mart or the empty lot between the motel and the Escapees lot? Many do.

RE: Waco Texas CGs information

At 35 and Lakeview drive (NOW CALLED NEW DALLAS RD) (thats old 35) there is a nice rv park that has been there for years. I use it quite a bit and it is A_Ok. It is eaasy on, easy off. Just pass the river, go past Bellmead and it will be on the west side of 35.

RE: Membership Resales: NOT what it seems.......

" If you have 2 grand invested in a campground, get to use it for 2 weeks, that is a pretty stiff fee. Somebody please enlighten me with the benefits of these type of camping/resort fee based systems. " I hate to be the one to tell you, but a TT membership cost over 12 THOUSAND DOLLARS !!

RE: Membership Resales: NOT what it seems.......

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, by golly it is probally a duck. But sometimes, if they use the right bait (low cost),. people think they are minks.

RE: Problem Rv's & NHTSA

Maybe Im the only one that reads your post this way, but if you feel that way BEFORE you get an rv, I suggest you rethink it. You will NEVER be happy with one with that attitude.
