RE: Here comes the snow !

yep, we got it alright. Most likely close to 50" total on the ground between the 2 record breaking storms. Had to clear off the first 30" off the RV. Now I'm just hunkering down and waiting it out! No idea where to shovel this new batch. I'm 54 and never remember this much snow. I guess someday I'll be able to tell my grandkids about "The Big Storm of 2010"!

RE: Kitchen Drain Blockage Solution

i can share the exact same story. Our Friends had just bought a used 5th wheel and this was the first trip of substance, almost immediately she had a clogged kitchen drain. We drove 45mins into town, bought a snake, some drain cleaner, and several extra towels. We could not figure out why the snake went all the way to the end and we still had a clog. Tried calling the dealership and they directed us to the manufacturer.(yeah, I'm sure they are always open on a Sat afternoon!) needless to say, they were quite upset since they had traded in a perfect trailer that had no problems for this one. talk about second guessing themselves! We worked around the problem for the rest of the trip and they returned it to the dealer for repairs upon returning home. No one had mentioned this separate galley tank either thru the PDI or in the manuals they had received so they were livid when they were charged for the "repair". Live and learn!

RE: Craigslist Flagging

Les, thanks for the heads up about the selling/wanted change. That makes much more sense than the way "wanted" items were listed together previously.

RE: Craigslist Flagging

Never start with "DO NOT FLAG"!! It will be flagged almost immediately. Seems most folks think "if it was flagged once, it most need to be again!" Wait 48 hours to repost if you have been flagged. And just for the record, the RV section is for selling, not buying. If you are looking to purchase any item it technically should be listed in "Wanted". There is a "flag help" section in the discussion forums but beware it tends to be answered by smug, arrogant people with too much time on their hands! Trust me, I know this from my experiences. CL's is a great tool but sometimes it can drive you bonkers~

RE: how to pick a kayak

Hubby and I have a tandem kayak,a Malibu Two XL made by Ocean Kayak. Its a sit-on-top model and we love it. Our first tandem was a cheaper, no name, sit-in model that was a "tank", Heavy to carry, no turning radius and a bear to paddle straight. We were able to visit a local paddling rental and sale store that was having a "try it out" day on the water. What a great idea! We were able to sample many styles and brands in the water with different manuevers and even tip it to find out how difficult re-entering the kayak from the water was. I was sure in my mind that I didn't want a sit on top kayak but this demonstration sold me. The owner sells his rental boats at the end of the season and we had planned on waiting for that sale but I happened upon the exact model on Craigslist and we have been paddling any chance we can since. Your local Parks and Recreation Center is also an ideal place to begin your search. We took kayaking lessons from them that got us on the water in a kayak, and the rest is FUN.

RE: New phrases that you just hate!!

I have one co-worker who after be told something not to her liking (like she messed up or has to actually do work) constantly says "now, Tell me again" If you listened the first time, I wouldn't have to repeat it! and my all time hated phrase is my Daughter in law and her "Whatev" she can't even take the time to complete the word?! Whatever!

Jayco comes through again!

I contacted Jayco by email about the "retro-fit" that others here have mentioned for their bunk seals. In less then 2 days they called me personally to discuss my problems. Even though the retro kit will not fit my 2005 18F Jayfeather they are sending me the newer style seals free of charge for both bunks. This may not be the exact answer I wanted but you've got to be impressed by their timing and response! I know I am.

RE: FREE DRAWING: 4 new 5"x 5" RV.NET window stickers

I came out ahead on my scratch off lottery tickets today, so maybe that's a good sign, so I'm in on the stickers too!
