RE: Caulking

If properly applied Eternabond does not "look like heck" as a previous poster said. The white Eternabond 4" wide looks great and will never leak. The only caution is to make sure it is going in the spot you want it when you touch it. You will have a longlasting seal that won't leak. Eternabond will bridge over other caulk, but not silicone. If you have some of the spots around roof protrusions use the self-leveling type.

Do you let the kiddies move around while you are driving? Everyone wears a seat belt when we are moving, including the Grandchildren.

RE: Manuals

For all of your appliances you can probably go to the manufacturers website and download manuals for each. For the MH itself most makers only made a generic one that did not give specific details for a model. Since they are next to useless you will find they are in very limited supply. If you ask specific questions on here you will find someone who has or had one like yours.

RE: Our W22 Brake Issues

There was some discussing of the issue either on this forum or IRV2 and one of the more mechanical type said that it would require a lot of work to make them fit. Also something about requireing new rotors as well. I agree that there should be some after market fix like the car modders do all of the time. How about the old OEM brakes before the Bosch phenolic ones were used?
To the best of my knowledge the chassis that have the brake problems, W20,W21 & W22 are new chassis that replaced the old P-30 chassis. The old ones had lower GVW ratings and the brakes were not interchangeable. The old chassis had all 19.5" wheels but some of the early WH chassis did also. We are stuck waiting.

RE: What year did Chevy and Ford add EFI ?

Ford had EFI in their '89 because I had one in a Jamboree. It was trouble free. I had a '96 Vortec in a Pace Arrow and it was MPFI. Both were great motors but the 454 had a slight advantage on MPG. That could be because it had an OD in the transmission.

RE: High Mileage RV - Afraid to go long distance

I would feel a lot safer taking your MH than my 33,000 mile Workhorse on a 2003 with undependable brakes. Last year and this summer my motor home has been next to useless and I have good tires just aging away. Brakes parts should be available this summer, probably after vacation time, and it is only 2 years of waiting.

RE: Models where bed drops from ceiling above drivers seat.

The OP is looking for an extra bed. The Safari Trek only had the drop down bed. I have never seen a queen size bed in anything other than a C. If Fleetwood makes one that is your only choice. I have had a couple of Fleetwoods and would not be afraid of another. When Fleetwood went bankrupt they still honored the warranties on their MH customers during and after the bankruptcy

RE: Cost of Dual Pane Windows Option

I don't know the price but after having them I don't want to be without them again. The insulation of sound and temperature are great.

RE: Cracker Barrel info NJ to MI

My question for anyone who stays at Cracker Barrel is how do you find room at one of them. When we have the MH & Toad there isn't even room to park to go in for a meal. The places, usually in the back, aren't usually available and they aren't even long enough for a long RV.

RE: Help sensitive to smoke

For the same reason we don't open the windows or doors when it starts to get smokey in the CG. DW does not go out to sit around a fire. While some think she is anti-social, she is just allergic to the smoke. We usually use the AC in the night. The thermostat will cut it off when not needed.

RE: Tow weight.

As a retired leo then I am sure you are aware that a cop can pull you over and give you a ticket any time he wants. Doesn't mean a thing until the judge and lawyers are done! You and I both being from Michigan know there is no law against towing overweight in Michigan. You may be ticketed for a number of other things like careless driving, whatever, but not overweight. But then again, the judge and lawyers get their say.
The last time I checked Indianapolis, on the way to Tennessee is not in Michigan. He was in Indiana, Kentucky, or Tennessee. Their rules are probably much different than Michigan.

RE: Shower Faucet Handles?

The threads that control the direction are a part of the faucet. To get away from that would require a different faucet.

RE: Questions about buying a used Travel Trailer

Under no condition should you use silicone caulk on an RV. The movement does not agree with the silicone. Check Eternabond for doing the seams on the roof where it meets the front, rear, and sidewalls. That is a tape that "sticks" to anything, except ailicone, lasts almost forever and stays white. If you use Eternabond once your annual roof checks will be much simpler.

RE: Ewww - sewer question

I don't know what your RV is but many Class A's have a compartment that allows the hose to remain hooked up and just stores in there. I leave a 20' hose on and just fold iit in the compartment. I also carry another 20' extension in a 5 gal. bucket. The coiled hose, with extension fittings attached, fits nicely in the 5 gal. bucket. I always carry a supply of latex gloves that are disposed of after each use. If you need more visual instructions check the movie RV. It is nothing like that but fun to watch.

RE: 2002 Coachmen Mirada vs. 1999 Fleetwood Flair

I had a '96 Pace Arrow on the P-30 and had absolutely no complaint with the handling or ride of the MH. I did have air bags on the rear and kept the front ones to 95#, as suggested in the manual for my weight. The MPG on the 454 was always acceptable for that size vehicle (35') ranging from 7-8 mpg. I would guess that most of the ones running down the P-30 have never owned one.

RE: Bank Repo Class A

Oil analysis? Just change the oil, grease it and have as many things checked as you can afford. The dealer I bought from had the unit serviced before I looked at it and gave me the receipt for same..Remember, Engine and Tranny have a five year warranty mine had a blown turbo charger but caterpillar picked up the tab. again good Luck
The engine and tranny may have a 5 year warranty but they are making 2011s now. That means the 2004 is up to 7 years old. That is out of warranty. For the $25. for an oil analysis you could find if the engine is self destructing. That isn't just a $4000 engine in a DP.

RE: Found dry rotted walls.

Depending on how deep the rot is and the exact location you could find a good use for Git-Rot or a similar product. These are epoxy products that, when injected into rotten wood, will make the wood hard, like fiberglass. My experience came from when I had wooden boats.

RE: short class a

The one down the road from me is a Winnebago that looks like 24-28 Ft. It lookws good as I drive past. Let me know if I should pull in and look at the price. My daughter bought her first TT from that dealer and they were a good dealer.

RE: Bank Repo Class A

With the low mileage and the fact they removed as many items as were easily removable (bed, radio) may indicate a complete lack of service. The oil in the crankcase is probably the oil that was in from the factory. I would definitely want an oil analysis.

RE: Water Pressure Regulator

Those that are mounted to the post in the CGs are vacuum breakers or back-flow preventers to keep you from pumping your water back into the CG system.
