RE: Happijac electric kit install on TC...

I'm trying to decide between the Happijac motor drive kit or Stable Lift. I have a Silverado 2 wheel drive with air springs, and I think the Stable Lift would add too much weight I just put on the electric motors on our Adventurer last summer. Pretty straight forward install. Ours was pre wired, but it would not be that big of a deal to wire it up your self if you are at all handy. As for Stable lift. I put one on an old camper I had. As for weight keep in mind you will lose the weight of the 4 corner jacks. Stable lift comes as a kit, but you need to drill the holes thru the pipe specific to your rig, holes in the camper, and drill holes in the frame of your truck. It is alot more labor intensive than just adding the motors. I liked the platform for a place to store the camper, but we found that crawling in the mts we had to watch the ditches, the pipe that hangs down was easily hit. If I had it to do over I think I would have just gotten the 4 corner electric jacks. If you already have the jacks and just need the motors it seems to me that the more cost effective way to go is to just add the motors. good luck

RE: bumper allignment on GM

Thanks everyone for your posts. I have been looking around, seeing a few with minor gaps, but not like this one. click here to see some pics of the gaps I did crawl under it. It was hard to see up in there, but did not see any obvious tool marks on what I could see. I go back and forth have them straighten the bumper, then take it in for a pre-buy check, or just leave it... I think it is still for sale. They have called me a couple of times this morning already. thanks for any input

RE: bumper allignment on GM

When the salesman says...."It's normal,"....that's when I start to worry. :B That's why I came home truckless... Just thought I would check out his story, just incase there was a glimmer of truth...

RE: bumper allignment on GM

Sorry about that, yeah, the front bumper. The passenger side has a much larger gap between the headlight and the bumper than the drivers side does. I am kind of wondering if this is a common problem, or if this dealer (sells used trucks only) just had a bunch of wrecks and wasn't good at straightening the bumpers?? Or if the truck came that way from the factory... If it came that way from the factory, I would say fix it, if it was an accident I would walk. thanks

bumper allignment on GM

I was looking at a 2004 GMC 2500 Seirra today, and noticed the bumper was not alligned properly. When I mentioned it to the sales guy, he said it was normal to see that on GMC/Chevy trucks. He showed me that if you walked around his lot that I would guess 1/2 of them were that way... I still walked away. I really liked the truck, but wanted to make sure it was not in an accident. Autocheck said the truck was never in an accident. I have found a little on the subject of mis alligned bumpers, but not as much as I had hoped for. What do you all think?? Thanks for any input
