RE: WARNING!! Don't Try To Stop At This Walmart

We have seen this elsewhere.
What they are saying is that they don't want over sized vehicles in the general parking area...be it RV's or large delivery trucks.
They probably are fed up with "RV overnighters" as well and don't want folks free camping on their property.
If you want to shop, drive around the side and use the truck entrance.
We try to "scope" out all entrances BEFORE we attempt to use them be it shopping areas, fuel stations, restaurants or whatever.

RE: EGT's

Sounds about right..for a pre-turbo probe placement.
I am conservative and back out of it when I see 1250 which is easy to do on long hill pulls.
Maybe a little less than 1000 on the flats in 6th gear.

RE: this looks soo cool (deck on top of rv)

Interesting..
I'm wondering how long a roof design like that would last up here in the Northwest..
Looks like that deck could easily become a swimming pool or a koi pond.

RE: Seeking advice for damaged new trailer

What a nightmare..
You will get lots of opinions and advice and hopefully sympathy on this one.
My advice, demand a new unit. Catastrophic water damage is very very hard to completely rectify. Let them send it back, let them fix it, let them do whatever they want with it, but you should get a new unit.
My bet is that they can order and deliver a new unit to you sooner than they can ship this one back to the factory, repair it, and haul it back to you. Keep in mind: they have your money or you are making payments on it..you should have a trailer to use.
I'll follow this thread to see what other say and good luck with it.

RE: Tire questions and any suggestions

Question: since you live in Las Vegas, has your trailer been stored outdoors? The desert sun can really put the hurt on tires. Were they covered?
I agree with Tom/Barb , I'd probably run them.
If I were going to replace them, at this point, considering what is available out there, I'd go with Maxxis.
Good luck and have a great trip.

RE: Weight problem

Just a couple of thoughts:
Any table scraps or "people food" as part of their diet?
Do you watch them when they eat? Any food stealing going on? (Dudley stealing Maggie's food).
Since you have them on meds and under vet care, have you asked your vet

RE: New to weight bearing & Sway Control

Brian,
I'm not going to harp on this (weight police you), but a dry weight trailer of 4500 lbs will weigh more than 5000 lbs before you even drive it off the lot or put even one pair of socks in it for a trip.
Dry weight will not include propane, batteries, awnings, etc. and your tongue weight will balloon accordingly.
I can see that you are excited about your new adventure, but once again...forget using dry weight to determine what you can tow.
Once again, good luck with it all.

That's what I like about our trailer...it has wheels.
If we don't like what we find ($$$) we can move on down the road.

RE: New to weight bearing & Sway Control

The Reece Strait Line is an excellent hitch. I have used one on my last 3 trailers.
As rrupert above posted, carefully check the weight combination and limits for you Pathfinder and the new trailer.
Enjoy you new rig.

RE: No ticks or fleas but pet dog keeps scratch'n . . . ? ? ?

Not a vet but have had some experience.
Could be caused by a number of things.
Stress, allergy to food, skin condition like mange, allergy to something else.
I recommend you get to a vet before peek a poo's scratching breaks the skin and causes infections... meds are available to help.

RE: Should I use O/D or just leave it turned off?

The constant in-out "hunting" when in OD builds up heat in your tranny and will ultimately shorten it's life.
We burned up an Expedition 5.4 tranny by leaving it in OD on hills.
Like coolbreeze01 said..take it out of OD and to improve mileage, slow down.

RE: Bike Racks

Be very careful about mounting a bike rake directly to the back bumper of most trailers. (especially 4 bikes). They are not designed to really hold much weight. Bouncing and bumping down the road could cause this weak, over loaded bumper to fall off dumping your bikes all over the road.
Better to mount the rack directly to the frame or have the frame reinforced at a weld outfit.
Do you have a ladder installed on the back of your rig. There are ways to mount bikes to this also.
Enjoy your new rig.

RE: Using a slide when its in ?

I have full access to all parts of our trailer when the slides are in except one small cabinet and the microwave.
We often use our trailer with the slides in.
We have even pulled the slides in and hitch up the night before we leave when we want to get a quick and quiet early get away in the morning
