RE: New Fuzion 302 Touring Edition II owner

Congrats on your new Fuzion, Bowhunter, and welcome to the forum. I opted for the Curt 18K slider hitch, heard nothing but good on them thru a search. Pretty beefy unit. Also went with the JT Strongarm stabilizer system. We got our 322 TE II late last year and only got it out once before the snow flew and loved it. After a two week trip in our Lance 821 we were ready for something bigger....like you?! Can't wait 'til spring and get her out more.
Advice...during your walkthrough, make sure they don't miss anything, you see something they don't mention SAY SOMETHING. I didn't in the case of the Dirt Devil vac system. I figured it was ready to go. Fired that baby up during our first trip and in no time...poof! Nothing! Turned out the plastic bag with the manual and vac bags was still inside and fried the unit. It was covered under wty but due to the holidays, took two mos. for a new one to come in. Just make sure they cover everything.

RE: route to Grand Canyon

Going in the East entrance is a bit of a pull from 89. We went in the South entrance then out the East taking in the sights on the way. Nice downhill almost all the way out. We then headed South on 89 and took the loop through Wupatki Nat'l Mon. and Sunset Crater Volcano. This was on a trip to Santa Fe and we then went East on I40 and hit Meteor Crater and Petrified Forest(went in the South entrance,if you go this way you have to stop at Jim Gray's Pet. Wood shop just south of Holbrook).
Good luck on your trip.

RE: Cougar slide out bike rack

Does anyone know a weight rating for the rack on the Cougars? A friend has a 24 footer and was wondering about hauling his 4 KW genset there or maybe some firewood.

RE: Kingpin Tripods?

The strong arms are the only way to go IMO. I love mine.
X- 2. Love mine. Beats lugging the tripod around.

Again, thanks to all for your input. Many things to consider. I'm liking the detour around Portland. Been through there once with my TC, now wondering with a fiver!

RE: CA 395.

re; western movies, that would be Alabama Hills out of Lone Pine on the way up to Mt. Whitney. A must stop if you're into old westerns. Another great stop would be Bodie ghost town just north of Mono Lake.

Thanks donn for the ideas but our friends want to run the coast up to Tillamook then over to Pendleton and since this trip is their idea I'm just along for the ride. Do you know of a MH plant in Beaverton? Thanks.

RE: Cleaning Aluminum checker plate on side of Toy hauler

Mothers is OK if you're on a budget, but, if not and you want the best stuff on the planet get FLITZ and their power ball. Mothers power ball is foam and doesn't last that long where FLITZ' ball is like a fiber material. Trust me, in the hotrod world this stuff works better than anything else on the market. It has many other uses as well, like water spots on shower doors. Go to www.flitzpolish.com.

RE: Oregon US395

Sorry...no can do. Just the way it has to work out since we're meeting others in CC. I just talked with them up there and tours are M-F @ 11 AM and among some other rigs the Cougar fiver is one they build there but they're not the 'cold weather' models, they're done in Indiana.

RE: Pendleton, Ore./Keystone?

My 2007 Springdale came from the Oregon manufacturing plant.
Don't know about the tours.
And BTW, the trailers that come from the Pendelton plant are built differently than those from Indiana, even in the same model/floor-plan. This was confirmed by an engineer in Oregon and a national sales rep from Goshen.
I just talked with them up there and they do tours M-F @ 11:00 AM.
From what I hear it's the 'fair-weather' rigs they build there and the cold weather rigs are done in Indiana.

RE: Oregon US395

Thanks Guys for the input. Forgot to mention that we're wanting to hit the Keystone RV plant in Pendleton and look into a tour of the facility. We have to do the trip as stated as our first stop will be hooking up with friends in Crescent City for salmon fishing. We're doing this around August.

RE: Havent heard much from Fuzion owners...how are they?

Georgew48,
Thanks for that bit of reassurance. I'll keep an eye on the TP and keep them covered when possible and hope for the best. Would have been hard on the wallet to turn right around and shell out a bunch of cabbage for new skins.
Super pleased with mine as well, other than an issue with the Dirt Devil. Seems Fuzion nor the dealer had it set up and ready to go. What did I know? So, I hooked up the hose and went to work. After a bit...it quit! After inspectin' around, I popped of the cover plate on the unit and there was the manual and dirt bags in a plastic bag. I'm guessing the suction the plastic created burnt out the motor. Been waiting since before X-mas for Dirt Devil to get a replacement. Also, didn't get the lock pins for the upper bunk in the garage...still waiting on those.
