RE: Outback Sydney Edition delamination

Sorry to hear this! I know there are a lot of different theories about how this happens, etc..
You might be able to find some additional help here (if you haven't already seen this site yet)....

RE: 2010 Outback Sydney 290 RLS

I have one and love it. Ours is a 2009 29RLS (the extra zero in the one you're looking at means it has a "king" dinette - we have a regular sized one). The Outback/Sydney line makes several mid-year changes within the actual production year trailers, hence the slightly different model numbers, outside graphics, etc.
The Sydney line will be limited to just 5th wheels from now on, so the 290RLS you're looking at is one of the last "Sydney" TTs. It seems like Keystone is taking more of the standards that were previously found only in the Sydney line, and incorporating them into the regular Outback line. You can see the evolution if you compare previous "regular" Outbacks with the newer ones.
We have had no issues with length, or tow vehicle/setup, but primarily go to resort-type campgrounds.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

RE: Where to get good service for ANY Class A?

Thanks, everyone, for chiming in on this! Great to know all the different options that are out there! I wouldn't have even known where to begin to look before.
Thanks again!

RE: HGTV RV show on now

I want the water purifying light pen and the night vision scope!
Luckily, I didn't see any RV that made me want to rush out and buy a new one, but I loved the L-shaped sectional sofa. Where can I buy that?
Iris
I'm with you on the sofa! Looks like you have to shell out $350k+ on an upper-end Winnie for it, though. I really hope other brands will copy this!

Where to get good service for ANY Class A?

Hi, Everyone --
As a sometime-in-the future Class A owner, I've read so many posts about issues when you need service, both under and outside of warrantee (i.e., "you didn't buy it here so we won't service it", or "will push you to the back of the line", etc.).
This got me thinking -- are there any independent servicers of Class A's? Or somekind of independent, available cross-country network that will fix/service your rig no matter where you got it?
I'm assuming maybe Camping World does, but what other options does a future buyer have?
I'd hate to think that I'd HAVE to buy something from a local dealer simply because there wasn't another option. And, what if you move?
I'm sure there's a good answer for all this, but having no actual experience with it, I'd love to hear how all of you deal with this.
Thanks for your experienced replies as I continue to research for that one-day future big purchase! :)

RE: Bristol, TN in two weeks! Is this the best detailed route?

The folks advising to go out to Carisle are giving good advise. We live in middle Tennessee and often go up to Pennsy and north Jersey to visit family and always take I-81. Going to Bristol, if you are camping near the track, take exit 69 in Tennessee right to the Volunteer Parkway. This way, you avoid driving thru the two Bristols. By the way, where are you camping? We've been season ticket holders to BMS for along time and usually camp at Shadrack. We leave home on the Monday prior to the race. Have a great time.
Thanks for the added insight! We'll be at Race Day Center, which is pretty close to the track. Hope we have good weather!!
Thanks!

RE: Bristol, TN in two weeks! Is this the best detailed route?

Forgot about Carlisle. I went to three online map services because the only one that would let me change the route to go that way to pick up 81 was Yahoo maps.
Looks longer, but maybe better RV-wise.
Thanks everyone!

Bristol, TN in two weeks! Is this the best detailed route?

Hi folks!
I had posted several months back about this and now we're only 2 weeks away from our Bristol, TN Trip to go see the NASCAR race!
We leave from South New Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia PA, and from my previous post, seems like the consensus was to take I-81 there.
I looked up directions via Mapquest and it looks like it's taking us (from southern NJ) to 295 South, to 95 South, to 695 W through Baltimore, 70 West through Frederick, to 340 in Virginia, to pick up 81.
Does this seem good? Also, with all the severe weather we've had does anyone have any recent reports of anything we need to avoid (like damaged/closed roads, detours, etc.)?
I absolutely, definitely want to minimize the big mountains as we are pulling a TT.
Thanks again for the experienced advice!

RE: Sewer donut? Or is what I already have ok...

Thanks, everyone!
I ordered 2 today - figured I'd get an extra one just in case.
With the attachment and the sidewinder I already have, AND now the donuts, I should be all set no matter what state we're in or what the requirement is!
Thanks!!!

Sewer donut? Or is what I already have ok...

I just found out that the campground we're going to "requires" a sewer donut.
I'm confused, though. I bought http://www.amazon.com/Camco-39144-Easy-Elbow-Adapter/dp/B000BQWHDQthis last year. Does this eliminate the need for a separate rubber donut?
If I still need one, I keep seeing a "soft" ring and a "hard" ring on the 'net. Is one better than the other?
Also, are there any pictures of what one looks like on the sewer hose?
Thanks!

RE: Atlantic City vs Philly RV Shows both next weekend?!

Thanks! I hadn't heard about the Oaks one either. Apparently there's a boat show next door to it, so I think I'll probably stick to the Atlantic City one.

My bad - didn't realize we had a "show" thread. Maybe one of the Mods can move this to the correct area.
Thanks

Atlantic City vs Philly RV Shows both next weekend?!

How crazy is this -- Both the Atlantic City, NJ RV show and the Greater Philadelphia RV Show (in Oaks, PA) are the same weekend!
Any idea which one would be better? We're about half way between both, and there's just not much available on the 'net about either...
Thanks!

RE: outdoor mat

I have a 8 x 20 of a turf-like one by Prest-o-fit, and also an 8 x 20 that is polypropylene (the woven plastic kind).
The Prest-o-fit is slightly heavier than the polypropylene one and definitely more rug-like. It dries more quickly than regular discount turf or indoor/outdoor carpeting. No fraying since the edges are bound (with grommets). Even when it gets wet, it doesn't "feel" wet when walking on it. Drying time is moderate.
The polypropylene one is more mat-like (got our from Ebay - there are a dozen on there). This one dries fast and feels like you're walking on dozens of plastic straws, woven together. While this one dries somewhat faster than the Prest-o-fit, the binding on the edges (usually nylon or similar)can take a bit longer to dry out.
We also have two generic lounge chair carrier bags from Camping World that we use to store each mat. Water resistant, big with handles. I liked this storage bag option better because you don't have to re-cram the mats back into the rather small cases that are custom made for them.
Anyway, just some feedback -- hope it helps! We use both depending on situation, ground type and amount of rain in the forecast!

RE: 2010 Vymeron Toy hauler

Agreed!
Since it's a fairly new product maybe that's why the dealer list is also relatively short.
Looks like a very cool, light trailer, though!

RE: 2010 Vymeron Toy hauler

It's actually a TT line that came out last year.
If you go to the main website (wait for all the animation to finish) at the bottom middle of the screen it says "dealers". Click on that and a few pop up in US and Canada.

RE: 2009 Ford 6.8PSD with 3:55 gears?

Having towed with both an early model F150 ('00), and now a new one ('08), you'll absolutely want the better gears no matter what you decide to get.
Another thing to consider -- we added stiff springs to the back end of the truck and got about another ~2 inches back in height for towing. I'm mentioning this here because even though this doesn't seem like that much, it made a pretty significant difference in towing experience.
If you decide to remain with a 150, this might be something you'd want to take a look at since it's a fairly inexpensive mod that can yield a good return. (Of course this is also assuming that a good WD hitch is already part of your picture, as is an even load distribution, which I'm sure you already have considered).
A properly equipped F150 is a great towing vehicle AND a great daily driver.
Good luck and happy camping!

I would love to have a second fridge -- or at least an option for a larger, dual door one in a TT.
