RE: charging batteries

What set-up do you have, inverter, converter, how many batteries, and what kind, GC 6 volt, 12 volt?? You need to make sure you have voltage to the charger regardless of what system you have.. That's where I'd start.. If you don't then you need to find out why not.. Without seeing your RV and the system it's hard to help..

That's a good vehicle to put M & G system on.. We chose SMI because we didn't want a dead pedal system..

I got mine at Ace Hardware, make sure it's the ruff rubber not sand paper, it will damage the wiper seal..

RE: Monico Parts and Service

There's also a chapter of the Holiday Rambler RV Club for diesel moho called Ramblin Pushers 419 that has files for all the manufactures of all the parts that are/were put in these moho's.. So you can contact them direct and get your needed part or if they don't deal direct they will tell you who to go to..
419 has a maintenance session in early May in Goshson In. and there will be techs and venders there to help with problems you may have with your coach or just want to learn more about it.. PM me if I can help further..

RE: Can someone recommend a battery tender to me?

I second the Xantrex Echo Charger, we have an Xantrex inverter and I wanted it from them even though it costs more and it doesn't take 120 vac.. It is 15 amp instead of 5 amp and it works great so far(battery voltage(house and chassis) is about .3 of a volt apart sense hooking it up in November).. If you have a Magnum inverter, they have one too that is adjustable, just thought I'd throw that out there..

RE: correct valve stem extensions

In the fall of '08 we put a new set of tires on the coach, I got a set of Wheelmasters at CW, put them on myself and haven't had any trouble so far.. That's what came on it and they didn't cause any problems either, just thought I should get new ones with the new tires..

RE: 2010 HHR vs 2010 CRV for toad. Which is best?

Love our HHR, 11,190 miles without any problems so far, got it the end of may.. Will get another if they are still making them.. Easy 30 mpg and as high as 34.6..

RE: Windshield Drapes

Plug in RV drapes and see what comes up?? That's what we did.. If I remember right there is a place in Ohio that will make drapes for you.. We were going to take ours down and go over there and have them copy ours, but we tried washing them first and they looked like new, well almost, we hung them back up and we'll see how long they last.. Next time we'll replace..

RE: Rubber Stair Treads

They do alot more than just furniture.. Go to there web and you'll see.. Flooring and cabinets.. We are looking at a new couch and recliner plus removing the booth and a smaller table with two chairs for more room, don't see us trading up so might as well make as nice as we can since we're in it about 9 months a year..
Mike..
PS: How do you like the new coach Dennis?? Looks niiice..

RE: Hyd. Oil Filter again

Roy, we don't have an Endeavor, but I'll try and help.. You don't have a fan filter if you have a rear radiator, which I think you do.. Our hydraulic filter is at the rear to one side(passengers) of the radiator.. Black canister with a lid and large nut on top.. You loosen the nut and the hole top comes off, be careful there is a spring on it pushing up against the lid, and the filter is down in the oil.. It's like the filters of olden days, not a spin on.. These book(manuals) are for several different models and some things you may have on yours and some you may not.. Hope this helps, let us know..

RE: Tire load versus tire life?

I don't know if this will help, our coach came with 2.55X70RX22.5 H rated.. We went up one size to 2.75X70RX22.5 H rated.. We could run the air pressure almost to the point that it would be considered half flat to carry the coach if we followed the tire chart.. To say the least we don't, we carry what the placard says behind the driver's seat plus 10 # which is 95# in the front and 90# in each of the back.. It made a softer ride and better handling by up sizing plus a hugh safety factor.. Hope this makes sense..

RE: Slober tube on 99 cummins 5.9 ?????

Ours is on the passengers side.. I extended ours down to where it almost touches the ground when the air is out of the air bags.. I used air line from Ace hardware and a hose clamp.. Wash the radiator every six months.. If you do this, make sure you don't run the tube into the ground when you let the air out of the bags.. This has worked for four years.. Some put a plastic bottle with holes and steel wool to catch the blow by, I didn't want something else to maintain..

RE: Another Battery Question

Any one of the three you mentioned would do fine.. We just changed ours and got Trojans, but that not to say they are best.. That's what the shop sold and the price was right.. We had Interstate U2200s and they lasted 6 1/2 years.. But I would use the 8-Ds, if they are working for you, til they are wore out.. If you decide to stay with 8-Ds, I'd get true deep cycle and stay with them, if that's what came in the coach.. Just my thoughts..

We weigh four corner each year at the maintenance session in Goshsen, In.. If you're close to the axle/tire limits you may want to weigh more often??

After reading this thread, we went to Wally World and got a 4" topper for $125 and it's been a big improvement over the old matress by itself.. We want to replace the old matress but not right now..

RE: Entry level DP best quality

Newmar is another good coach that comes to mind and the factory is closer to you should you need to go there for service(Northern Indiana).. I'd look at high end used coaches, they were made better to begin with and should outlast a new entry level coach.. Just a thought..

RE: TROJAN batteries T-105 VS T-125 Experience?

We did just the opposite, we replaced our 6 1/2 year old U2200s with T-105s in September of '09, 4 of them.. The price was right($107 each OTD) and the shop changed them so I didn't have to handle and haul them back and forth.. Hope the Trojans give us as good a service..

RE: Braking system for toads

M & G is a very good system, but I would also look at Air Force One from SMI, if you have air brakes.. We chose SMI Stay-N-Play Duo since we don't have air brakes, and it's worked will so far..
