RE: Honda generator ?

KIPOR makes one equally quiet but they're Chinese made so repairs can be a problem and lots report needing them at some point. Others say they have no problems with them.

RE: Cleaning Stabilizer Jacks on TT

I use soap and water to clean then lube them with flake graphite. Any LIQUID lube will attract dust and dirt. Good luck / skip

RE: trailer brakes

I'd suggest you check your states laws also because MOST require brakes if the trailers over X pounds also.

RE: Front room heat

Vents are usually attached to an adapter on the bottom of the furnace. If either the adapter or the connection between the adapter and the vent to that room are disconnected for any reason (can be LOTS of reasons) then any heat that would go to that room ends up in the basement. Sometimes a LITTLE BIT may drift back up through the disconnected floor vent.

RE: Carlisle tires

Not sure about ALL Carlisle tires but their TRAILER tires are all made in China. Can you say "BOOM". I've actually SEEN them blow up while sitting on the spare tire holder on a friends trailer.

RE: RV Solar Tax Credit

Bet you'll also find a definition of "Mobile home". Doesn't normally include an RV of any kind.

RE: Moving into storage tomorrow

How much does a load of gravel cost? I sure wouldn't want to give up the security of having my trailer under my control if I didn't have to.

RE: Refridgerator Temp

Up for colder is correct but even at it's WARMEST it shouldn't be running at 45 degrees. It'll make maybe two or three degrees difference from top to bottom on most units. Might be a good idea to check the door gasket.

RE: WARNING!! Don't Try To Stop At This Walmart

Not at all uncommon. Many of them are taking extreme measures to keep RVs and trucks out of their parking lots. You've found one but we've seen hundreds of them all over the country. Parking lots aren't designed to handle the weight of an 18 wheeler so they do what they can to prevent them from coming in and causing damage.

WE came home in a blizzard at the end of February and just finished clearing the drive from the LATEST snow storm. It's been a very extreme year. Anybody doubt climate change anymore? :)

RE: Reserve america:

Yep, the difference is that tax payers are subsidizing the state park but the private parks have to pay their own way. Also private parks pay taxes on their land and state parks are tax exempt. That's the reason they're so cheap. That little lady living down the street who's never even BEEN in an RV is paying part of the fees.
NOW, what does any of this have to do with Reserve America?

RE: advantages of pop up trailer camper vs rv..

That pop up will be a LOT more like camping than the motorhome. It sure was OUR choice of RV when we were young and tough. Cheap to keep and you get that real camping feel.

RE: Disappointed in Camping World

There are thousands of parts for various RVs and ANY good business will sell the ones that they make good money on and sell most often. If Camping World were to be judged by the number of parts they DON'T stock they'd look pretty bad. I prefer to down rate them on their service which I've found to be bad at about half of the places I've stopped. Priced too high and with way too long a wait time for a traveler to use. Always had much better luck with local dealers.

RE: Bought new camper

If it's a new trailer it SHOULDN'T need caulking yet but if it does it might be a good idea to have the dealer put on Eternabond instead so you never have to worry about it. Congratulations on the new RV / Skip
