RE: solar for batteries

My 15w panel maintains my four fully charged batteries that are otherwise disconnected just fine. Well barely. Recharge I recommend at least 100w. You should find solar at about $2 a watt if you check around.

RE: 2 group 24 batteries

I have a newbie question, how would i know if my trailer is set up for 6 volt format batteries vs 12 volt battery format? or does it matter? also my trailer came with 1 battery, cani just throw another one on there and hook it up or do i need to do anything special? also can you just go out and buy a car battery or do you need a special deep cycle type battery? Deep cycle in parallel is best. The 12 volt side of life

RE: Running Air Conditioner from inverter/batteries?

My 13.5 air pulls about 90 amps from the battery. I have only done that for a few minutes for testing the thermostat. I have a Prosine 1800. Even if you had 12 hours of batteries (2500+ amp hours) you would still need a decent generator to charge them back up. Sooooo as long as you have the gen just run them direct.

RE: What tires should I buy ?

I will put my two cents in to look at GY Wrangler Silent Armor or possibly MT/R if you want more aggressive.

RE: Crazy battery charging idea - Will it work?

I think Trik-L-Start would do a better job. http://www.lslproducts.com/TLSPage.html

RE: Recommendations for a 2000W generator ?

I would look closely at the Magna 3000 generator. The db is close, 30a-TT connector, rated 2500w continuous. My brother has one and is very happy.

RE: Battery Tray?

As long as it sits on something that supports the bottom and it is tied down I think you are fine. Any autostore should have a universal hold down bracket.

RE: trailer tires

Yes that is a valid point but your payoff will never recoupe the tire price. Of course if you are buying anyway I agree with the idea. Kumho 857 looks like a great option.

RE: wine cooler power?????

It will take up one of your thirty amps when running.

RE: Need help with LED light conversion

I used that bulb to relamp the entire trailer. Bright white for general areas and warm white for areas that need less light. Get two of each and try them in different areas.

RE: 2 group 24 batteries

With the PD & wizard you are good to go, no worries.

RE: 2 group 24 batteries

Your capacity should be higher with two 24 vs the 31. You will do fine. The only issue might be getting them charged. Some converters are excellent, others adequate, and a few old ones are down right miserable at charging the battery. Basically your converter needs to get into the 14.2 to 14.8 volt range for fast charging. You can test while camped as since you have a generator you will be fine. It is mostly about how long you will need to run it.

RE: furnace run time

When you shut down other stuff at night I would crank the heater up to 1500w if possible. Is that 35,000 btu furnace rating the input or the output? I am thinking it is the burner rating. When I used 1000w electric heat in similar temps my furnace cycled maybe 20 to 30 minutes per hour in my 26' barely insulated trailer. Actually that is a guess as I did not use a stop watch.

RE: Brake Fluid Check

Unless you have a leak you should not run low on fluid. If the fluid is low check the brake linings and for any leaks.

RE: trailer tires

If you want a little more consider 215 but check clearance.
