RE: Closing auto dealerships???

I heard a dealership owner on the radio yesterday and it really made me made at what Chrysler is doing to him! He purchased the franchise some 25 - 30 years ago, purchased the land, paid to have the building built and the parking lot paved and had over 3 million dollars of inventory on his lot. Last year, Chrysler MANDATED that he do major remodeling as per THEIR specifications, he did, to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars. Now, Chrysler is taking away his dealership and GIVING it to someone else at NO COST!!!!
May not have the complete story, but that is the general idea of what I heard!
Just doesn't seem like the America that "I" have grown up in!?!?!?!?!?

RE: Snails & slugs: how to get rid of them?

Bought (and used) $40.00 worth of a product called Sluggo (Iron Phosphate) and about $100.00 worth of a product call Bug Getta Plus (metaldehyde). The Sluggo is "organic" and is non-lethal to domestic animals and other wildlife. However, the Bug Getta is highly toxic to BOTH. These products seem to work for a little while, but I keep getting re-infested!
Do these guys not have any "natural enemies"??????

Snails & slugs: how to get rid of them?

Last year I had a major infestation and the little buggers wiped out anything "young and tender", I had to start all my plants in pots and get them up-n-going before putting them in the beds. I had no idea what kept happening to my plants, I would just put out more, until I found the problem. I put out beer traps and that seemed to take care of a lot of them, but they were still damaging most of the "established" plants. (they didn't completely destroy them, but did major damage to leaves and blooms) Took over 100 blooms off of a mum in just a couple nights!
This year I thought I would get a head start on the "problem" and have put out major amounts of 2 different kinds of slug & snail bait/poison, but just today I have killed over 300 of them. In addition to the "chemicals", I have also made rounds with a flashlight and tweezers both at night before I go to bed AND in the mornings before I go to work and average 25 - 30 each time!
Does anyone have a "cure" for these little guys? Like I said, the beer traps work, but they are messy and a PITA to keep changed out. There has GOT to be SOMETHING out there that will eliminate these destructive little critters.

RE: Great Gary Larsen Cartoon!!! (Small Dog Owners Will Like)

Our "favorite" Gary Larsen cartoon has a guy sitting on the side of his bed with a chicken perched on his window sill. The caption reads:
The bluebird of happiness long absent from his life, Ned is visted by the chicken of depression!
That one is stuck on our refrigerator and has been for MANY MANY years! Still raises a chuckle when I look at it!!!!!!

RE: What is it with guys and their lawnmowers??

Just replaced a 40 year old Snapper 20" riding lawn mower last year with a John Deere (real John Deere) Z425, 48" Zero Turn Radius mower. Hopefully it will be the LAST mower I ever have to purchase.
2 lawn mowers in 40+ years ain't a bad average!
