RE: inverter problem?

Battery is disconnected, problem has just started to occur, after three years with the coach. Problem only when one or two lights are on. when the inverter is put under more of a load, then it ramps to 15v and stays. Measured at converter.

inverter problem?

My lights started going bright and dim. Less light the more the fluctuation. Disconnected battery. Voltage at power center leads fluxes between 12-13v. Problem is intermittent cant seem to make it happen. Had unit 3 years. Problem started a few weeks ago. Bad converter? Any other tests? With most all 12v light on inverter goes to 15v and stays. no fluctuation.

RE: Norton Anti-Virus on Laptop--Any Issues?

The problem with Norton isn't that it doesn't do what it's supposed to: it's that getting rid of it in the future can be a real pain. I'm still finding Norton remnants three years later and several times through with the "removal tool".
Many antivirus are system hogs. So far having tried them out AVG seems as good as any of them and its free. Also use Malwarebytes and have not had a problem. And like the poster says getting rid of them is a problem. AVG uninstalls cleanly.

RE: once you use synthtic oil

Of course. You can even mix them. However, considering the studies showing the superior qualities and protection of true synthetic oil, why switch back? I use AMSOIL.

It's cheaper but a bit larger. But not as deep, when folded up.

RE: Have you parked in a Hotel lot and spent the night?

I usually call ahead to see if they have parking for TT. or large rigs, a lot of hotels near the interstate have parking areas. Also have stayed in hotels just about anywhere. Most Super 8's have rig parking. Never seemed to have an issue if I was looking for a night in a motel. In the Chicago area you cant find a campground close to a part of the city that I have friends in, so I use a motel. If you do park in one, if you get there early position the rig not to be blocked in!

RE: 8.1L Chevy & 4L80e trans, pros/cons

I've been towing with my 8.1 since 2003. 70,000 miles. Good pulling power in the Burb. Engine noise upon start up, goes away when engine heats up. Uses some oil. But so far so good. Trailer weight 9300+.

RE: tongue weight dry

My factory spec. TW at 1000 lbs. Took a Sherline gage and found that it was 1200 as the unit was equipped from the factory with full propane etc. and up to 1400 with water in the fresh water tank.

RE: Tires & Wheels upgrade

I put Goodyear Wrangler Pro with Kevlar sidewalls on my Burb and the stiffer sidewalls helped the last of the sways issues.

RE: Sewer Hose Preference

Sewer Solution ends the problem of leaky hoses and fittings. I surprised it isn't the standard by now.
What is Sewer Solution?
A recommendation from someone to me was to buy the cheapest hose you can get and throw it away after each use. Their point is that once used it will always be contaminated and it just was not worth keeping it around.
I buy a cheaper hose, keep one extra kit on board and toss the old one when there is a problem.

RE: Trailer Tires

I found sun crazing in between the treads rather than the side walls. I agree with Skip, I am changing to Maxxis, before I move the rig again in the spring.
