Hi All,
I have (and so does OKJoe) a Dometic microwave. I can't seem to find any data on whether my microwave is included in the recall. I understand that some or all of Dometic's microwaves are manufactured by Samsung and simply rebranded as Dometic and given a new model number by Dometic.
I have a Dometic CDMW12W. Mfg in 2003. Its in my 2004 Sunnybrook 2708 TT.

I have a Prowler AX6 2004 have not found my micro #under recalls any where, but when it stops running and you press open door light comes on and table begins to rotate then stops door opens. I bought this trailer in Dec. 03, and have been on the road since travleing cross country. No fires yet.

How did anyone get a response from Samsung???? Have called; sent fax and 2 emails - all with no response. Needless-to-say, I am not a happy camper!!!

One of the several Samsung products that has worked flawlessly in our TT is the microwave. My all protecting Federal Government dictated that unbroken parts be fixed. We called Samsung/Maytag and set up the appointment, estimated time 45 minutes.
A team of two arrived on time. The Union Way; one technician for the microwave and other was the specialist for the mounting brackets.
Face plate replaced, oven returned to original position. Total Time: 45 minutes

I contacted Samsung by phone. They gave me a local number to call to set up an appointment with their loacl service dept. I called, but the part was not in stock. I was told they would call when the part came in (3-4 week estimate). Less than 2 weeks later they called saying the part was in. I set up an appointment for them to come to my house. I did not even have to be there (just had to make sure the camper was plugged in so they could test the microwave). The technician called about 1/2 hour before arrival, I told him where the camper keys were, and it was fixed.

I was very impressed with Samsung and their customer service.

Kidd,

Yesterday while getting ready to camp for the weekend, My wife found the clock off on the microvave. The microwave was hot and had popped the breaker. It was a samsung model that was on the recall list.

Thank goodness for this website. I found the samsung 800 number and the Maytag number in this forum, and within 45 min had a service call setup.

I received a letter by REGISTERED mail from Samsung. What I don't understand is that my unit was made mid-2003, why wouldn't they have figured this out by then. The posts here go back.
However, called the number given, got Maytag. They ordered the part and called me when they got it. Scheduled the service. The guy came to the RV and did remove the whole unit to get the new panel on. He was in and out in less than a half hour. No hassle at all. And, he cleaned off all the glue from the first panel before installing the new one.

I think Samsung has done an excellent job resolving this issue for owners. I experienced what others have mentioned...at-home service completed in minimal time. I offered to take the microwave to the service center myself but was told, "No, we'll come to you."
