Does anyone have info on the 4 down towability of the new Equinox due out next Spring?
From what i have researched it will be built on the Saturn View platform , but , on a 112" wheelbase and have the 5 speed Auto Trans.

I am also looking forward to the difinitive word on this. Equinox is a sharp looking vehicle and slightly larger than the Vue. From what I see, it is AWD and these are not usually flat towable (CR-V is only one I know). The only way Saturn was able to get around it on the Vue was to use the 3.5L Honda powertrain for 2004, otherwise no Vue except the 4 cyl 2wd manual is flat towable. My guess is Equinox will not be towable but I hope I'm wrong.

GM usually has a good track record of making their vehicles towable but recent products are going backwards on this. Hope they get the message.

Edmund's review said it will be available in either AWD or 2 wheel drive.I'm hoping the 5 speed makes it towable in the 2 whl drive version.
I agree , it looks sharp and a good size --- bigger than a " Grand " Cherokee; slightly smaller than an Explorer with a curb weight of around 3740 lbs.
I guess we will have to wait until it's intro to find out--- unless an interested GM employee Forum reader could give us some insight.
Anxious to use those accumulated GM card dollars & can't use them on Saturn.
