Bill, Congrats. Although I've never seen this brand, after looking at thier website, it looks like they are putting together a nice camper. So go have fun in it!!! But don't camp in it the way Balbir apparently does--Raise The Roof!!!! (Sorry, Balbir--couldn't resist) Chuck

Nice Outfit. Pun intended! I have been to their plant. Build one at a time and are very good at it.

Just returned from a 5 day trip to Las Vegas with the new Outfitter. I stayed at Red Rock Canyon Camp Ground. Its run by the BLM, very nice place. The Outfitter worked great. We had 2 days of constant rain with temps in the 40's, no leaks and stayed very warm. I drove through 40 plus mph winds in NM on the way out. No problems at all. My 13 year old daughter came with me, we had plenty of room in the camper. Had a couple of minor problems. 1. latch on cabinet needed adjustment ( I did my self while on the road, about 10 min.s) 2. One of the camper tie downs could not be removed unless you take a bolt off the the anchor. Both very minor that I will fix myself. Now for the good. I ran at 65 to 70 mph and got 14 mpg (until I hit the 40 mph headwinds) on a 3/4 ton diesel 4x4. Thats a loss of 3 mpg from what I normally get. Very acceptable. Shower has great room, I am 6'2" and 190#'s. My unit has the extended over cab bed, again very roomy. Storage areas were sufficient also. This unit travels great and gives the feeling of a much larger RV due to the very tall cieling, about 7' interior head room I think. I was hesitant because of the price tag, but now I am confident I made the right decision for my needs. I owned a haulmark previously and a Bigfoot 1500 series before the Outfitter. If a hardside is what you want I would go with the Bigfoot. If I go back to a hardside it would be a Bigfoot hands down. The Haulmark was alright but they do not offer a toilet and shower in a shortbed model. I also think for the money the Outfitter with its aluminum frame instead of wood is a better way to go. I am looking forward to my next trip.

God Bless

I have been reading the posts on this web site for a while. They are all very useful in helping to search for my next camper. Just out of curiosity…..would you explain why you went from a Bigfoot 1500 to your new pop-up? Particularly since you said you were happy with your Bigfoot.

Thanks much for your help.

I went from a Big Foot to a pull trailer for more room. I travel about 25,000 miles a year with a RV. The trailer lost its appeal and gained wait. MPG were not good with the trailer. So I went back to a camper. I wanted to go as lite as possible, low profile, and still have a shower/bathroom. The Bigfoot traveled well. The outfitter is less weight, and a lower profile.

We have some interest in 9.5 foot Hallmark and Outfitter pop-ups. To help us decide whether a 1500 mile trip to the factories is justified, could someone please tell us -

When the dinette is made up into a bed, how long is the bed?

Thanks. Dale

Outfitter told me their's is 5'10" long. I don't know about Hallmark. You could try sending them an Email. That's what I did to find out the Outfitter size.
